I won't name my workplace but on Friday at around 11.30 you should be able to find us if you stand in Dublin 2 and navigate your way to our office by listening out for the sound of many little pigs freaking out. That'll be us. I'll keep you one of each flavour aside.

I missed the lime ones last week, so sad.

I also work in Dublin 2... I will keep my ears peeled!

I've got a sniffle today. Not having any chicken for chicken soup would you say turkey would do just as well?

    I would think so.
Either way, turkey makes lovely stock.

    Definitely, turkey soup is yum.

Turkey soup sounds like a bowl full of hugs. Especially if there's little bitty pasta or noodles in it. Hit that.

Looks like the donut kiosk on o connell street is still there.

used to be a dodgy looking arcade there (as in arcade games) where the internet cafe was. I remember getting the donuts still piping hot straight from the oil, or he had chocolate coated ones.

Yup, yup 'The Rolling Doughnut'. Love those! Had to stop buying a bag of 6 walking home (2 sugar, 2 cinnamon, 2 chocolate) because it turned into a terrible habit.

I'm dosed on blackcurrant tea and lemonade, and everything I've eaten has twice as much garlic as the recipe calls for. This is my usual method for dealing with colds. There will be a hot whiskey before bed too :D

The Rolling Donut started out as “The little donut kiosk” on O’Connell Street in 1988 founded by Michael Quinlan. This little institution built up a steady trade for many years. Millions of Donuts later the little shop finally got a facelift & it’s name The Rolling Donut! Our Donuts are unique in that they are made fresh to order with care & attention going into each & every one to ensure they taste delicious! It’s their simplicity that makes them unique. We take great pride in sourcing all our ingredients from local Irish suppliers. We are excited to continue developing our product & our brand with the support from our loyal customers.

Our family-run business was established in the mid 70’s after seeing donuts being made in a shop in London. First opening up in Gaiety green at the Dandelion market, it continued to sell fresh donuts through to the 1980’s. We eventually branched out doing concessions at concerts, shows & festivals trading under the name “The Rolling Donut” eventually opening up the Donut Kiosk on O’Connell Street in 1988.

Now over 40 years later The Rolling Donut is still trading to a band of loyal regular customers every week!

I heard of this place before, never knew it was the kiosk people.

Found a hot milk recipe that's incredibly delicious - 1tbsp honey, half tsp vanilla extract, a pinch each of cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, ginger. Heat and enjoy :)

I came down with the sniffles yesterday (Tuesday) and feel like sh1t. Who gets a cold in lovely September?

A couple of weeks ago, I babysat four quail for the weekend. Nice eggs. Tiny.

I have a chicken coop from when I had hens, so they used that.

Some egg with my fried vegetables...

Also, in the last couple of weeks I've picked nearly 3kg of blackberries relatively near the city centre. So I'm happy about that. Here's one haul.

and with a couple of stalks of rhubarb, I made this much.

with the second lot, I added a couple of pears to the mix. We'll see how it tastes in a few weeks.

Oh, and I made this much rhubarb jam about three weeks ago.

I tried avocado for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. Thought it was the best thing ever! Aaaand now can't even look at the things, my tum says no.

Sickened myself with too many perhaps? Although they gave me wickedly mad dreams that kept me awake most of the night. Perhaps my body telling me no :p

Thought they'd be around that alright. Bit restrictive, imo.

I bought a naggin of whiskey today, not only to try and kill the cold but also to make this.

I met my nephew the other evening to talk about his summer inter-railing and somehow the conversation got around to food. Don't know if that was me or him, but that was a highlight of the chat!

I might get the cookworks slow cooker for €16 in Aldi. I think it's 2.5L. Does anyone know if they are a good brand? :)

My parents have one of those, I think. They love it. Just be careful, it gets HOT and I have the burns to prove it.
