    Liverpool -1.0 @ 1.9 seems like a fair bet

Put a fiver on it :)

You do know that 1.9 is less than even money... You seemed to think it was 1.9/1 yesterday, just a FYI

I'd make €4.50 profit if I'm not mistaken.

    Although I lost.

Ya you would, but that bet is = 0.9/1 (4.50/5.00)
Or as I said, less than even money 1/1.

Kinda key to fully understand the odds you're getting.
When you place a 10/3 bet with paddy power for eg they will say "payout" is 4.33, which is correct, but you're only getting 3.33/1 or 10/3 "odds"

Key for betting for me is odds, if they're greater than they should be then it's a good bet.
I think many people make the mistake of looking at their predicted outcome (Liverpool to beat WBA easily) and place the bet on that basis rather than what value they are getting.

If you're mixing up the "payout" and the "odds" you might be thinking its a better bet than it actually is.

Why? You made a good point above. I try to make the same point when I explain to my non industry friends why I can have a large bet on 2nd Division Greek basketball, despite knowing little about the sport.

Sorry, must be my time of the month :)
Thought it was laced with sarcasm, but glad it wasn't.

I get stick from "betting big" from mates, the reality is that I stake about the same as them overall, but it seems big as their weekly doubles, accums etc etc all add up and are easily forgotten. I'll have about 3 bets a month on average.

Was very tempted by 5/1 for England in running at 16-3 down yesterday. Was telling a lad how I should have done it.
    "But it lost" he said.
He couldn't get his head around me insisting it was great value IMO or the fact that I was slightly p*ssed for not doing it.

Bet365 are offering me €3.91 to cash out my €2 double on under 2.5 goals in Arsenal Palace and Chelsea City. Potential return is €8.80.

This high rolling life of a gambler is hard work.

Under 2.5 in total from both games?
Or will 2 goals tomorrow be ok?

In each game. So less than 3 goals in each.

Over 2.5 goals is 11/10 tomorrow so you would be losing out if you cashed in.
    You're current getting about 6/5.
And you shouldn't be doing a double if you were going to cash in at a loss in terms of value.

My 2c, if you were looking for advice in the first place :)

This cash in my bet is one of the best things the bookies have created in recent years. Makes a killing.

I'm leaving it in. I'm sure I'll survive without the €8.80 if it loses.

Might cash in tomorrow night if City or Chelsea get a first half goal.

What's the general cash out discount/saving for ye, about 20-25%?
The 3.91 represents 19.55/20, would you have gotten it for 6/5 (to give the 20ish %)

Anyway, that's the last betting post from me. It's getting a bit "one topiced" even for me.

    Whats up?

There is a particular website I use regularly. I use both phone and laptop to view it. In the last couple of days I have been unable to connect to it. I have tried a number of browsers both all say it cannot connect. At first I thought the website is down but I was able to go on it at a friends house today. So I presume it is down to the router I have. Anyone any ideas how to solve it?

UPC issue? I wonder were your friends houses on different internet providers?

    Use this link to check

    http://www.isup.me/

If this site reports as up then you are blocked for some reason.

It might be an ISP problem. Can i ask if the site is a torrent tracker or filesharing website? Several Irish ISPs have begun blocking these websites lately

    Happy betting folks.

Rory, I think we both know what you are trying to do here.

    1 week ban.

So Lemlin and RoryC, both of you have been issued with 1-week bans recently.

    That's strike one each.

The next time I feel either of you is attempting to troll or bait the other, it will be a 1 month ban.

If that does not work, it will be a season ban or even a permaban.

You are both good contributors, but I have absolutely no problem in permabanning either of ye.

The lad in the vid that posted it on Facebook was from Drumkeernan, sounds a bit more like a Leitrim than Cavan accent too.

Hard to escape a cliché though :)
