You must have missed the bit where the Ryanair diverted from Shannon to Dublin due to the wind.

As far as I am aware the only time those aircraft go without passengers following a diversion is if they are like to be delayed many many hours or gets cancelled. Put it this way if we send 10 aircraft to Shannon there won't be 40 coaches driving from Shannon to Dublin after they land. In the vast number of cases the passengers stay onboard and comeback with the aircraft after a few hours.

Yeah I used to assume that but then whenever I've looked at a RYR diversion which has been within Ireland (as opposed to going back to Bristol like the other day) they've had the coaches out.

Didn't miss anything. My understanding is they will tip the passengers in Dublin and let them bus it, its not like weather in Shannon was predicted to get any better this evening.

Imagine being diverted to Dublin, sit on the runway for ages, then down to Shannon for another few attempts at pot luck and back to Dublin again?
