I think it looks good, I dont care much about fashion. Besides, I couldnt listen to fashion advice from a fellow in skinny jeans and oversized headphones while keeping a straight face.

And I should have said cargo pants rather than combats - i.e., the plain ones not the patterned camouflage types. Awesome trousers.

Theres no doubt they can look cheesy, but as a previous poster said, its a look than can come off quite well.

You started a thread in Fashion & Appearance Forum. It's not necessary that everyone here is a fashionista (I'm not) but it is likely that double denim look will be disliked by more people than just blokes in skinny jeans and over sized headphones.

I don't like denim jackets, they rarely look good on people and and I think double denim look is too much. Yes some people can pull it of but they are not the norm. It is up to you what you want to wear, neither you need to listen to any advice. World would be way too boring if everybody would look the same. But I think you should show others he same courtesy as you are expecting for yourself. We are all entitled to our opinions.

Apologies to any fellows in skinny jeans/ oversized headphones ! :)

In other news, the online Diesel shop has a few denim jackets. My razor sharp detective instincts tell me some other chaps are rockin' the DD out there. Where are they all ?? I need some support dammit :p

OP it's a very risky move but it CAN work as long as the denim on the upper half and the bottom half don't match or come close to matching (example: http://us.asos.com/ASOS-Denim-Jacket/10ysfw/?iid=3134811&SearchQuery=denim&Rf-700=1001&Rf900=3471&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=204&sort=-1&clr=Blue&mporgp=L0FTT1MvQVNPUy1EZW5pbS1KYWNrZXQvUHJvZC8.).

If it's dark navy denim then try pair it with black or dark grey jeans. Also, both the jacket and the jeans should be slim fitting at least. If you're wearing baggy jeans and a jacket of fairly similar denim washes you'll definitely be giving off a dodgy dad look.

Lol..the dodgy dad look. I know what you mean.

I'll be rockin the DD tomorrow night. If I see any brethren similarly attired I might chance a nod of approval. Or a gun and a wink. Unless its baggy and matchy , then I'll just pretend to look at something on the ground. :p

From a lady here,I think double denim on a guy can look really cool and 1950's like teddy boys think of the slick backed hair, shades and turn ups at the end of the jeans with black shoes,i think it looks very slick and cool as long as your'e not over-weight,even the tiniest bit of weight can make you look very well fat and frumpy..Even if you are a small bit chubby - steer clear,as double denim is a hard look to pull off..

If you are good looking young and thin - go for it.

    Thin ? Check.

Young ? Meh.. few years left before falling apart. Check.

    Good looking ? CHECK !
