Yes thats not great but thats an issue with the bus route more than anything else imo. And making that road one way in the opposite direction wont fix this specific problem as the 14 wont be able to come down there anymore and even by the time this happens the 14 will be defunct and replaced and none of bus connects routes plan on using that specific road anyway so none of your reasoning and arguments for it really joins up here does it? Especially again since this will just end up increasing traffic on the roads all the new bus connect routes are using which is what you claim to be against in the first place…….

Have you even bothered reading my posts?

If you had, you’d know that they aren’t planning on changing the direction of that section of Upper Kilmacud Road.

It’s the section between Sydenham Road and Overend Way that will be reversed.

The A2 and A4 will take the exact same loop as the 14 currently takes from Dundrum LUAS to Ballinteer Road via Taney Road, Sydenham Road and Upper Kilmacud Road and will double the frequency to a bus every 5-6 minutes.

These changes would mean a huge reduction in traffic on that loop.

You might want to spend some time understanding what is planned before responding with nonsense like this.

Quite frankly it’s becoming pretty obvious that your only concern is about being able to drive wherever you already can and you don’t give a damn about the buses.

I was under the impression the whole road was being turned into one way so that is my misunderstanding however you might need to check the latest busconnects map from Nov 24 because no bus is showing as using that road as part of its route from what I can see.

Also my issue is not about being able to drive wherever I want its that i don't think bottle necking traffic even more than it currently is will not fix anything.

The BC map is wrong in Dundrum - they mucked up as it doesn’t take account of the main street being one way.

I can assure you that what I’m saying about the routing is correct - it would be rather pointless having a bus gate with no buses! The change of direction at the top of Upper Kilmacud Road & the bus gate on Ballinteer Road are there to prioritise the buses by reducing the car traffic using the hill and to give as much of a clear run to the buses as possible at the start of their route.

The A2 and A4 (like the 14) have to take that routing to get onto Ballinteer Road and serve the town centre stop on Ballinteer Road just like the 14. They will take the exact same routing in both directions as the 14 currently does between Barton Road roundabout and Dundrum LUAS.

Once you realise that you can see the benefits for the two high frequency routes.
