I'm considering purchasing a rangefinder in the near future for myself and I'm wondering what are the best makes, value for money and realaibilty. Im considering a binocular rangefinder are they easier to use and carry out hunting with you? I have am considering a budget of €500-€1000 roughly probably won't go as high as €1000 but just want to see whats out there and what fellows recommend.

I have a set of Leica LRF 900. They are perfect, very accurate, and have a scan mode. I have them donkey years and they have never let me down. They can be bought for around €250 - €400 depending on model and second hand, but they don't come up often.

I also carry a pair of binos as i prefer having the two items separately but can see the advantage of a combo set.

In 1000 EUR budget I would recommend you choose binoculars and rangefinder separately.

Ya I can understand why fellows would want them seperate but I was thinking a bino rangefinder would be easier to carry around your neck and be fast to range a target if need be.

Range finding binoculars are definitely the best solution, the problem however is that that only the most expensive one are good. On lower budgets you always get bad optical properties in a binoculars and low transmission rate for the light.

Sound for that I'm only looking at the moment just to see whats out there and things and what fellows recommend before I make my choice and more importantly what I'm going to get and spend.

    They are about 2k new.
You might pick up a second hand set for €1200 but they rarely come up for sale.
I have a pair and wouldn't leave home without them, brilliant glass.

8x42 are 2650 EUR and 10x42 are 2700 EUR. However in my opinion these are the best binos in this class. They have porro prisms instead of roof prisms and thus supirior optical properties. Laser and ballistic parts are also incredible with capabilities of measuring up to 1800 meters.

I tested one pair and was really impressed.
