Had a really poor August for beating games. Finally finished Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey which is a loooooooong game but so damn good. Also finished Megaman Powered up which is a superb remake of the first megaman game. I only finished the original game and the remake with Megaman but there's still a tonne of content there between the 20 other characters free DLC levels and fan made levels. Too much for me to play through though.

Anyway I got September off to a good start by finishing Dark Souls again on the PC. Seriously this game is a contender for best game of all time.

I'll be concentrating on finishing Tomb Raider Underworld, Tomb Raider and Sonic Adventure DX (not a good game :( ) and hopefully a few more this month.

I'm also playing a lot of La Mulana but it's such a massive game that I doubt it will be done this month. It's one of the best metroid type games I've ever played, more people need to play it.

On handheld I'm playing Hakuoki Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. It's slow going so again this one might take a while longer.

Playing Darksiders 2, Pokémon Heart Gold, Dragon Quest IX & Saints Row IV. Really enjoy Darksiders but get lost quickly in it. I`m playing Heart Gold in anticipation of X & Y.

Started playing Gunhound EX on the PSP and just finished it on the train home today. My god is it seriously good stuff. Only got a japanese release but it's very import friendly. It's got gorgeous sprite art and some terrific boss and level design. If you like Cybernator on the SNES it's pretty much a spiritual successor. Think it's still available on play-asia:

I'm on a roll. Just beat Sonic Adventure. Really isn't a good game, time has not been kind to this one.

I finished Vessel on the PC a few days ago, really enjoyed it.

Starting Bioshock Infinite when I get some time, hopefully this weekend. Still working on Anomaly Warzone Earth, Lego Batman 2 (co-op with the GF) and have also started single-player campaign of Battlefield 3, though am stuck in a big firefight somewhere near the start.

Finally finished Arkham City, trying to finish tomb raider now and possible mark of the ninja on steam. Aiming to get mgs 3 (half way through) and stealth Inc done on vita, all before the 17th....

Haven't finished a game since May:(

Finally on the last level of Fire Emblem: Awakening. There is so much content in this game it's ridiculous.

Almost through Dead Island as well. Am starting to lose interest, could've done without those sewer levels as the other areas are all well realised.

Got a Platinum on Jak and Daxter the start of the month (i think, could have been the end of August), and started Jak II, which i'm not really enjoying. Haven City is dull compared to the villages of the 1st game, so i've started another playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas. But that's until the 17th. Then i'm off work from the 16th to the 25th and it'll be all GTA V!

Got around to playing through The Last Us. Fantastic game.

    Finished Spec Ops.

Currently playing through AC 3, the naval aspects to the game are pretty good.

I know once GTA V lands every other game in my backlog will be forgotten about for a considerably period of time, again.

I completed Saints Row the Third and Max Payne 3 last month.

Saints Row IV and Far Cry 3 are the games i'm playing so far this month. I should hopefully have these passed before GTA comes out.

Gonna try to go for all of Rollercoaster Tycoon this month. It will be some task with the amount of hours it takes.

Be honest, is it worth it? Played 2 hours of it, then done a W8 install on the PC and lost my save file!

    Yes, very definitely.

I finished the campaign in around 8-9 hrs (with lots of deaths).

It's especially jarring to a player if you're used to Uncharted, since Nolan North voices the main guy in both and
towards the latter half, he starts cursing and shouting more and more.

Excellent, just re-installed it. Should be able to knock it out tomorrow or the day after. So the list goes

    Spec Ops
    Red Dead Redmption
    ..GTA V :o

Yep finished Spec Ops in August too thought at 1st it was a pretty run of the mil shooter but the further in you get the story starts to shine through and you have to finish it then

Beat Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. Got Saito as my hunky samurai man in the end after game overing the first time. Thank god for the text fast forward function on the second playthrough!. Had a lot of fun with the game, a strange thing to say about a japanese visual novel aimed at girls! I'm not pushed to get the other endings so this one is done in my books.

Mafia 2 is done, pretty boring and repetitive by the end. Getting GTA from amazon but I want a change as Mafia is similar so think shall start Demon souls, AC3 or ICO.

    Hmmm

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,896 ✭✭✭penev10

Fire Emblem: Awakening is finally dead! 55 hours later. Did all of the side missions bar the few that pop up before End Game (just wanted to finish it at that stage). Lost 6 characters, mostly on the last level due to apathy at that stage.

Can a game have too much content? I'm a big FE fan but even I got weary playing side missions / skirmishes against the Risen / resurrecting every character from the old games - never mind the DLC!

Arkham Asylum including all 240 Riddler trophies, phew.

  • Registered Users Posts: 877 ✭✭✭_Godot_

Just beat Ys: The Oath in Felghana, the first Ys game I've beaten (still to beat Ys Origin). Was really good.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 50,888 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Ys is amazing, it's such a pity more people don't give it a try.

Play Ico, first playthrough should only take you 5-6hrs.

Go for a second & trophies if you feel like it, another 3hrs max.

    Then play Demon's Souls.

This month I finished Dishonored including both DLC packs, Splinter Cell Blacklist followed by Conviction and am now concurrently playing Black ops 2 on xbox and Spec ops on ps3 - as both are a bit run of the mill I started Rayman Legends the other night.
