I was talking to a trader who has a business on Watergate St and he said the works carried out a while ago has had a huge impact on footfall. 12 parking spaces were taken out and people just won't walk around from the Abbey Rd car park. How many times have you seen people parking on or around the Market Sq pedestrian crossing to run to the bank or into a shop? Taking parking away from Trimgate St would finish it off altogether.
