When you are applying, if you select your prefered accommodation as being Hall modern apartments what options does it then give you for preferred room?

The cut off point to be included in consideration in the initial round of applications for places in Hall is 5pm on Weds the 28th of August.
(This is a tentative deadline, which may need to be extended, and will be confirmed on Monday the 26th.)

well apparently there is a 'technical issue' so emails are still being sent, haven't got mine yet but i am kinda panicking since the deadline is in two days, and they haven't said anything about pushing the date back

Does anyone else's my.tcd applications page say, under 'Decision status', 'Unconditional offer- waiting for response'? It just makes me a little edgy that they don't even know I've accepted the offer yet.

Yes, I got the email from the provost with an ID number. However, that was after they had given me the offer, but before I had accepted it. They haven't sent me an email since then, confirming that I've accepted or anything. I think the ID for accommodation applications must be in that second email? I've tried logging to apply for that with the number I'm using for my.tcd, but it says 'User not recognised'.

Edit: I do have an email from the CAO confirming that I accepted my offer, though (thankfully!).

Oh my God.

I just realised that I had to create an account (using the ID that I had already!), for my ID to be recognised.
I'm not sure how I feel about this- I've spent four days waiting for my ID to apply for accommodation, when it turns out that all I had it all along... :eek:
Thanks, Prodgey, for your comment- I don't know if I would have noticed if it hadn't been for your comment. I feel a little ridiculous.

However, my application page does still say that they are waiting for my response. /shrug/

Do you know whether it said that straight away after you accepted your offer on the CAO website, or whether it changed to that around the time you got a 'welcome email' (if you did get one)?

How do you log into the portal? I used the student Id and date of birth thing but it says that the user is invalid...

(You talking about the my.tcd.ie portal, aren't you, and not the accommodation application?)
Are you writing your password / date of birth in this format: 'DDMONYYYY, e.g. 03FEB1977'? (Make sure the month is in capital letters.)

If you've logged in before, you'd have had to reset your password immediately, so it wouldn't be the date of birth now.

Anyone else having trouble trying to register to apply for a room at Halls, but able to log into the TCD portal.

Whenever i try to register for Halls, it says it has not been able to identify me as a student.

Guys I registered to Trinity ,I am studying BESS.I am unsure on what to do next,I created an account and changed password ,that's all.

On the email it says :Students entering some courses must complete and return specific forms before they can register. They are referred to as clearance checks in my.tcd.ie. Please check the requirements for your course at - I don't think that I need to do that

Once you have completed the on-line registration, you will need to collect your TCD student card in person during Freshers’ week from the Luce Hall (see map at www.tcd.ie/Maps), according to your course-specific Orientation Time-table available at http://www.tcd.ie/orientation (click on the link for your course). Print your confirmation of registration slip and bring it to the Luce Hall, together with photo ID.

I am not sure about the registration slip,is this the letter that I got from CAO that I was accepted to this course?

I think that is exactly the problem I had (see a few posts above).
Perhaps you've tried this, but- go to the page where you try to log in for an accommodation application. There is a little button above the place where you enter your ID, etc, that says, 'create account'.

Same here, on form for the option module it says that it has to be sent in no later than the 13th of September?

I'm not sure about the rest of your post, sorry, but, in relation to the above, I think there are some forms you have to fill out and return before the 13th of September (?). I'm not certain- I'm not doing BESS- but I'm pretty sure I've seen some posts around about forms for choosing your languages / modules, or something.

it says the exact same thing when i try to create an account , getting real annoying at this stage
