Student ID?

I just got accepted into Trinity and I would like to stay in Trinity Halls. It says that I need a student ID to apply though. I have no idea how to find out what my student ID is though. Please help.

Same as your CAO number I think.

As far as I'm aware you will get an email from Trinity with your ID number. Waiting for same

Up until last year, your student number was the same as you CAO number. They changed it last year, so you should get an email about it soon.

It said that there will be a gap of several hours between accepting the offer and Trinity getting in touch when I put in my cao number ! So hopefully soon how excited are we!!

Actually, just looked at TCD Accommodation facebook page 2012 and it says in one place that e-mails will be received the following morning. awwh

Haven't stayed in Halls myself, but don't bull through the statement as they use it to match you to your future flatmates. Last thing you want is to live with someone/several people that you have nothing in common with.

the bull part is more the saying you want to live there for the halls experience etc

They also base it on how far away from Dublin you live. People who live far from Dublin get more preference.

maybe... you'll probably be given at least some preference over Dubliners, but still nothings guaranteed. sorry.

No, it's all based on what you have on your application. It just asks you to briefly describe yourself and your hobbies and then fill out some info about where you live and your course. They pick based off that, so if you seem interesting or you live far enough away to really need the housing they pick you.

The older apartments of Trinity Halls. You get a single room & wifi but shared bathrooms.

Whereas the modern have either shared rooms, or single rooms, with a bathroom to each room and ethernet ports.

Wonder is it a fault in the system or something?.. I wouldn't normally be as panicky but my debs is today so even if it comes I won't really have time to sit down and do it!

I think that it's just always this slow from what I heard from people from last year. Rumour has it that we are getting them today but don't worry about not getting your application done because it's not first come first served ! ) so if you do it after your debs, you're still in with a good chance
