    Hi everyone,

Dance-fever has a hold of us here at Electric Ireland as we gear up for Electric Picnic, which this year celebrates its 10th birthday. To mark this, we've brought back the inimitable Mr. Motivator, who knows more than a little about moving and grooving and whose energy reserves know no limit, to help launch Dancergy! What is Dancergy? It's our one-of-a-kind digital dance-off featuring... you, the public!

    DancergyFBPost1_zps233a2232.jpg

Visit dancergy.ie, upload your moves to Instagram and you'll be in with a chance to win tickets! Now, for those of you who, for whatever reason, won't be using Instagram, we have a pair of tickets put aside just for boards users - to enter, just leave a comment below telling us your favourite dance move! (Optional - regale us with a dance-related tale...)

Whether it's the Moonwalk, the Macarena, or the more modest "just jump around and wave your arms wildly", we'd love to know! And if you can't think of anything or just aren't really sure what dances you like, here's some more ideas: Rock-the-Boat, the Robot, the Twist (think Pulp Fiction), Gangnam Style, the Harlem Shake, Hokey-Pokey, M.C. Hammer's Crab Dance, Carlton's 'Tom Jones'... I could go on, but we'll hand it over to you! :)

The competition runs until Wednesday 21st August, and the usual T&Cs apply.

    Best of luck!

Favourite dance move is definitely the robot and it will be getting an airing at EP if I win. Thank you Flight of the Conchords for introducing me to it!

Stacking the shelves. High probability of accidental face-slapping too

My favourite dance move has to be Alfonso Ribeiro and Will Smith's rendition to Apache's "Jump on it"! Never fails to make me laugh and my partner has designated it as his post-shower groove. Very attractive in a towel

The robot definitely! Although I'm a terrible dancer, my favourite memory was waltzing across the venue at Bombay Bicycle Club in the Academy with my girlfriend during Lights Out, Words Gone on Paddys Day! A few people even joined in. Not a bad few moves in the video for the song either.

The Dad dance - all elbows and knees, with the odd out of time clap thrown in.

It may not look cool but damn, it is satisfying!

The Triple Cartwheel - performed by my husband when he was drunk at a wedding.  Knocked a light fitting and had to pay to get it repaired.  It was worth it though.

It's just a jump to the left...and then a step to the right
Put your hands on your hips..you bring your knees in tight

But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane...
    ...let's do the time-warp again!!!

My favourite dance hasn't happened yet, but it will less than a month after Picnic,it's the first dance at my wedding. Myself and my partner will be dancing to a rockabilly cover of our favourite song.

I break out the old school dance moves on the nights out; sweeping the floor, stacking the shelves, going shopping, mowing the lawn.

But the best one has got to be breaking out the body-popping. Funniest night out I had was in second year of college and was busting out the body-popping moves when this random guy comes over and looks me up and down and gives me this evil eye (jokingly of course) and next thing I know he is busting his own body-popping moves. So naturally I return the challenge and for about 5 minutes there is a body-popping dance off in the middle of a packed Citibar and a crowd gathered around us. Lost the dance off to the fella but what a great laugh and showed what a bit of laughter in dancing can bring!

    I prefer the 'Indy cool'

While standing stationary, bop one leg and gently stroke your imaginary beard with a raised eyebrow to the music. Head nods bring extra flare to the routine.

Y'know the dance off scene in the movie White Chicks? THAT is the greatest dance of all time.

Tried to do a re-enactment of it at Body & Soul festival earlier this year, and instead of busting out some slick moves, I almost bust my nose when I fell over face first in the mud:o.

    Fun times!

The Basketball....Its relatively unknown at the moment but has been making waves across the Irish festival scene all summer usually confined to the dance area/tent.

The trick is to pull out the air basketball and show your best moves which include air dribbling the air give and go and of course the most popular air slam dunk.

I'm white and awkward, so my dance moves generally involve my arms tucked in basically to my armpits, my fingers pointing, my feet out of rhythm to the rest of my body, all the while going "Ooogie oogie oogie (oi oi oi)". I'm a hit on the dancefloor, I'll have you know.

I was recently a groomsman at my cousins wedding so the "Awkward Sober Shuffle" with the bridesmaid will be my nomination. Who knows, with the inflatable church at EP we could see a repeat of it, albeit a less formal/sober variety!

    Some of the greatest moves

Lassoing someone and pulling them in!
Imaginary putting on the dance floor!
Fish hook and reel them in!

I always think I have the best moves yet they mostly tend to look a like this:
