just hope the snow will accumulate at lower levels on Tuesday, but i'm not confident of that due to the conditions being marginal:(

After three hours it hasn't melted, instead it's frozen solid. Driveway and roads are treacherous.

Very unusual event for here, as I'm at Sea Level and just 100 metres away from the high water mark.

    Where?

Edit: Scratch that. Just saw your previous post. Laytown. A girl in my course from there. A bit ruff. :D

on the orange weather warning on the met eireann site it's included "Stormy overnight and on Christmas Eve with showers of hail, sleet and snow!" and the S word(s) are also mentioned a few times in the forecast :)

Snowing in Dundalk. 0c air temp. Sticking to grass, roads are drenched though. Fall of two degrees in air temp in just 10 minutes.

snowing here too now but it's very wet snow, not a hope of it sticking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,473 ✭✭✭lolie

Had plenty of wet snow here earlier that turned very heavy for a while.
Started to stick but thawed soon after it cleared, nice while it lasted though.
Sister living near Nobber in meath sent me a few pics from up there way:)

How come all the press are so quick to quote the "donegal postman" and "Mr New Zealand" weather predictors when they are nearly right but we don't hear a word when they are totally off the mark.

Neither of them predicted all these storms....

methinks they are sponsored by a heating oil company with the amount of cold weather they predict.

    Merry Christmas!:)

    I predict an unpredictable 2014!!!!!!!!!!!;):D:D

Only wet sleet is likely at this stage , but still some thunder too.

Wait till thursday morning at least before trying to know the exact details of fridays storm., and for one i hope those " some forecasts" are not from a certain Donegal Weather channel ...
