I might hang around on the thread, but I'd say I'll leave after a while.

I'll come up with some convoluted reason to stay for now.

They have an extremely good team full of young talented players. Would be a great move for current managers, let alone incumbents. They've even started to tempt me away from my beloved Estudiantes!

I take it seeing as you have your beloved Estudiantes into the pay offs you won't be taking up the post? :D

Not saying I'm going to apply yet but I've had 2 clubs this season so can I move again as the season is over?

I'll hold off so but similar to before, if anyone else wants the job it's theirs due to my poor manager rating

Sky new sources have picked up on rumours circulating that the current newcastle manager has decided to call it a day.

Some of the learned Soccer Saturday analysts have suggested that 'Mark SBR Wilmots' aka GT_TDI_150 must be one of the big favorites for the Job. He is after all a Newcastle supporter, he nows what the fans want/expect.

BBC Sports on the otherhand have been able to get a direct quote from the current Porto Manager, who stated:

"Flattered as I am with being linked to a team which I have supported as far back as I can remember, some might even say, to quote robbie keane,my dream club/job since i was a little boy ... I can not and will not abandon my team here in Portugal. I have the backing of the boards and chairman here. This team counts on me being here next season and I can categorically state now... I will be the Porto manager on the first gameweek of the next season ....

I'm not so sure others can be that categoric about their current position, the sunderland manager for one seems to be indicating a strong interest in the job"

This is why I made the suggestion on the SM forum that each game world owner can appoint an admin, or admins.

EDIT: I don't think they took me very seriously though, despite my eloquently written post.

Is that even possible??? That the GW owner can allow others to accept job applications?

After leading Anzhi to a glorious double last season it appears that GD is in high demand, with suitors from many clubs circling him.

"While we recognize the importance of GD to our success and we will fight tooth and nail to keep him, we also acknowledge that there are bigger clubs out there and a talented young manager is always going to have offers. We won't stand in the way of career progression should he decide to move and we get adequate compensation" stated the Anzhi chairman when queried late last night.

This follows overnight rumours that GD had been seen in the north of England, meeting with the Newcastle chairman. GD had this to say "It's always flattering to be linked with big clubs, and they don't come much bigger than Newcastle. It's testament to the work of my staff and players at Anzhi that when a job like this becomes available, I would be in the mix"

Pressed further on whether or not he was offered the job he said

"Look, opportunities like this are few and far between and there are many good managers who will be interested in the role. I'm happy at Anzhi and I'm trying to build something for the future, we aspire to be the kind of club that Newcastle United are. If I was offered the role I'd be mad to turn it down, but if not we've got a great young club at Anzhi and we're on an upward trajectory at present"

While nothing is confirmed on either side it seems clear that there have been initial discussions between the relevant chairmen and with the manager himself. We could see a move fairly quickly to stave off interest from other clubs, and GD could be installed at St. James Park in time to take the reins for the preseason friendly away to Olympique Marseille on Sunday 1st June.
