    hi all,i know the use of night vision devices on guns are not permitted on this fair land of ours,yet in uk its as common as day shooting with no problems,hell we can't even import a scope over 4 mag,or any moderator,i wonder if all irelands many thousands shooters,partitioned for a change of these silly laws,would it have any effect?

    Yes it is.

    You just need to ask for authorisation from your Super. This is the exact reason the "Sights" box is on the FCA1.

    A mate of mine has a serious nightvision scope on his rifle. Bought in the UK for nearly £5,000.

    hi cass,thats a good bit of info,do you think it would be hard to get permission from super to use a small device for bunnies? ive seen a scope called a pulsar digisight n550,in action on youtube,looks great,

    On the FCA1 tick the box for sights. if you do not explain on the additional piece of paper what it is and why chances are they'll call you in to explain so you're better of explaining.

    What reasons you can say i don't know. Perhaps along the lines of you hunt vermin at night and cannot work the lamp and gun at the same time. Something along those lines.

    Think of it as a mod. You need to show why you want it. Of course if you tick the sights box, don't explain why, and get the license i assume that is authorisation unless refused it directly. I've yet to see a license where someone has authorisation for a nightvision so i don't know and don't think there is anything on it to signify you have permission for nightvision.

    thanks for advice,much appreciated,i'm sure i ticked the sights box on me form,but all the same i think ill drop a line to me super,ill post the outcome,;)
