Not really, that was an alright idea to preserve the teams. Really has nothing to do with this. Sure anyone could do it...

For the record, I would love to see the SM forum get a dedicated mod. Someone who knows the game, knows the whole "don't name players" thing, someone who can draw up and sticky a charter and sort things out, and I also think someone who is involved in this gameworld (as the main gameworld).

Not criticizing the current mods, in fairness. More that in pretty much every other forum I visit, the mods are active posters and participants in whatever topic is under discussion, and rightly or wrongly, I don't think our current ones are. Adding one of the most active users in some form would please me in many ways.


Personally, my vote goes to Eireann Bear :pac:

It's not needed. For the most part everyone stays in line here and has the craic. Boards mods can only mod what happens on boards, not on other sites like SM. Also having someone involved in the GW as a mod would be a bad idea, there'd be accusations of bias etc from people the mod has pissed off or whatever, there's also the possibility that the mod may be biased against some managers which wouldn't be fair either

I'm in atleast 3 if not 4 GW's that Tupac is in and I'm sure o've dont a transfer with him in most worlds ... so, I must be tupac :rolleyes:

Like I said on SM, this might just be down to the fact that the 2 parties in question just really DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER and have called each other out on technicallities when trying to move clubs.

I told my brother in law to take the celtic job earlier in the game, he created a boards acount and posted here twice, once to say he applied and once relating to a player ... not everyone post here every 10minutes

Finally a bit of rebuilding done at Shakhtar. Thanks to the Barca manager for selling Muniesa. Plus picked up a couple of youngsters. I can't sign anyone decent so might as well bring in a few yoots.

Nope. Were stopping witch hunts against people. If you have a suspicion then pop me a mail or one of our mods or an admin and belive you me I'll be one of the first too call for action if the claims are true. But other wise the thread will meltdown with people all claiming multiple accounts every second post and afaik making allegations of multiple accounts on boards in threads is against the rules??

Lots of threads have charters. If an active mod came in here the game would get a charter for this thread and one rule would be not too mention free agents in the thread

As I am in at least 2 other gameworlds with Mac, about 4 with Baz Foster, 3 or 4 with J Bates...

You get to know people, of course your going to join a game world where your mates are already managing, banter when the results come in.....

I tend to agree that there is an argument for having a Soccer Manager Mod.

Not sure if that's possible, or if it could cause boards any problems, but there have been many rules accepted on here that are accepted as rules for the boards.ie GW, and it would do no harm to have someone that can enforce them on this forum.

There are differences with the Copa del boards, The GOOD League and others, so it would involve a defined set of rules (Charter) for each main thread for each GW. A bullet list of accepted rules is a simple way of doing it without it getting too complicated.

Not entirely unenforceable at all imo.

There is the issue of what's been alleged on SM recently, whereby a boards mod would have no power to do anything there, however.

I've seen different boards have different variations of rules; spoiler time limits, for example, vary depending on what board you're on.

A charter saying "Please do not name players who are under transfer bids unless you are the manager who owns the player" would be easily enforceable imo, since all a mod would have to do is edit the post when they saw it.
