They heard about Ireland being a soft touch more like, and if you had a kid here the family will be left stay.
Thats why since we changed the law, numbers applying are down over 90%, so less of this sob story crap.

I've just read the Safety Inspector reports on the Irish Times website. According to the inspectors the safety issues highlighted at the Old Convent in Mayo were too extensive to catalogue individually including blocked fire exits and fire alarms with no batteries.

Asylum seeker numbers are down in UK too. More to do with the global recession and the quicker development of these nations.

ill be the first to slag off our public sector.

theyre ridiculously over paid thanks to their unions reps acting the bollocks during the tiger years.

but the 24hr work shift is UTTERLY indefensible, and only exist because the lads at the top in the medical sector "did it so so will you" mentality, and a gov that dont want to hire enough staff to do the job.

if you wouldnt let a trucker do a 24hr shift why the fuk would you allow a doctor who has your life in his/her hands?

i hope the jnr doctors kick the gov/HSE arse on this one.

I have no connection to any medical staff so have no agenda here. Can someone explain why doctors have to work a 18 hour shift instead of rostering them in on separate 8 hour shifts? If you have 6 doctors in a ward can they all not work an 8 hour shift 5 days a week rather than the norm which seems to be that they do 24 hours in a row and are then off for 2 days. I genuinely don't understand what the issue is
