What's a "millon"? I know what a million is, but I have no idea what a millon is.

A millon multiplied by 1000 makes a billon

Jackie Healy Rae obviously has cousins in Clare.............

This is classic "he fixed the road" local politics once again being aired on da Lahv Lahn.

He'll be waiting a long time to hear back from the Minister for Transport.

Leo is blissfully unaware that life exists outside the M25.

He just said he wanted them demolished, earlier he said they didn't want them demolished as local people liked them for sentimental reasons. Make up your mind!

It's a 'millon poun' in Ennistymon..........= twelve euros and a bag of magic beans.

That woman was very mysterious alright.

    2 things:

    * If she has been paying the mortgage for a few years on her own why don't she try and remove her ex partner's name off of it.

    * What is this mysterious event that is outside of her control?

In fairness, If you go on the national airwaves to air your grievances you should be willing to disclose information freely. This event outside of her control will cause people (myself included) to doubt how genuine her story is.

The junction in question is a bad junction but tbf, its only busy during the summer months. Also, the risk to pedestrians is not as major as the Cllr likes to make out, there is a pavement on the otherside of the street.

A mini roundabout would probably do the job here. Not perfect, but certainly an improvement.

I think the whole undertone from caller 1 was that it was a B*stard man that has her in that situation, and it's not her fault.. But from what she's said, it sounds like she overstretched herself... Loads of mention of the paycuts, but nothing about all the benchmarking they got in the previous years..

Speaking as a joint owner/shareholder of the banks,(like everyone else in the country), I don't want them to be writing off debts willy-nilly. The money comes out of MY pocket. I want them to chase every penny!

Well at least he can tell his constituents after a year of campaigning he was in de paper and on d'rayjo. Nothing has changed with Blake's Corner now but his own profile has increased.

No mention of the automatic increments either which have negated all of the cuts

More than likely that would be the sensible solution.

But the cynic in me thinks it might be a little far off what the Councillor in question might prefer. As in a "look what I got since I rang Liveline" town by-pass. ;)

Yeah she said "less money and longer hours thanks to Haddington Road". It doesn't cost most people any more money to work a bit longer(ignoring the add-on expense of child minders), so why was that part of her argument?

I wish D'Omen was my Bank Manager. He'd owe me money by the time I left the meeting.

It'd be hilarious is Damien said something stupid, and got Liveline taken off the air while Duffy was away... Can you imagine the big red head on Joe Duffy when he found out.. .. (red with anger, not a reference to him being a socialist)

Theyd get PBH in to sweep up the mess, while Joe and the 3 twins got back to their snorkelling.

We must also remember the Cllr in question was co-opted, not elected, to his position. And what with the local elections under 12 months away a bit o' roaring n' shouting on de radio is a handy way to boost the ol' profile :p
