I think I've settled on this team.

It gives me a few options during GW3 and I shouldn't have to make too many transfers.

    Anyone else share my confidence?

    Toure- Mertesacker - Ivanovic

    Couthino - Hazard - Routhledge - fellani ( or Michu )

    RVP- Anekla - Benteke

    Subs

Lewis - Turner -Whittaker - Colback

    Thoughts on this folks

I have almost the exact same team except I don't have Terry, and I went for Benkteke over Lukaku. So I only have the 1 Chelsea player.

Are you not worried about having 3 Chelsea players to get rid of / bench over GW2 and GW3?

At the moment, no! That will change if any of my players get injured.

I'm okay with bringing in Kim and Turner into my team.

I won't be taking a points hit and of my two free transfers, one will go on getting rid of a Chelsea player and the other will be for changing another player on my team.

I will be playing my wildcard in preparation for GW4 so I can sort out any of the injuries that I'll have accumulated over the first three weeks.

I think that my plan is sound.

Fair enough. You seem to have it well thought out.

I suppose I'd be slightly worried that if I go with 3 chelsea players, and another key player like, say, Walcott, gets injured, then I'd be stuck with 3 Chelsea players against united. And thats what's holding me back from going with Terry and Lukaku over Soldado and one of my 4.5 defenders. I'm probably being overly cautious, but I think I'll stick with it.

I'm looking at a City defender at the moment to get in instead of Terry. I can afford all of them bar Kompany. Hopefully we'll know more about their defence after the first match.

Anyone have any news on Walcott for tomorrow - will he play or is he very very doubtfull?

Rip it apart lads.. has to be something negative to say about it ;)

Plan for GW1 & 2 - Get rid of Benteke and Lukaku
GW3 - Hazard on the bench for Gunnarson

Just realised I have two west ham defence.. need to drop one.. suggestions?

Edit: I've brought in Lescott.. Should get a few clean sheets for me

The fact that Man City aren't playing until Monday, does that heighten the possibility of Silva starting? (considering Spains trip to Ecuador). I currently have him in.

Ok unless anyone wants to twist my arm I think I'm settled on this team......for now

    6ienp3.jpg

Yes I'm mad. Only Hazard from the DGW but I refuse to be held to ransom. I'm uncertain over any of Chelsea's defense starting twice and then keeping a clean sheet. So I've picked the team (or well as close as is possible )that I wanted going into the new season. It's a risk but it's a risk either way. Last year loading up seemed to work well but this season is very different to last season.

While I haven't let myself be held to ransom by Chelsea I have been held to ransom by RVP. Once again a risk either way down to his price and his ownership levels. Many are saying they'll bring him in for GW4 but if my team is doing ok I'd like to be able to hold my wildcard a bit longer if I so wished. I haven't skimped on my forwards though. Soldado and RVP should be in my team for most of the season all going well. Dzeko has been in and out of my drafts the past few weeks but he deserves his place for a few weeks until the rest of the City forwards get up to speed and a bandwagon emerges. He should play and he should score. Shoulda, coulda, woulda...I know :pac:

Going back to my defenders I really have cut corners but I have 3 players I want and have remained pretty much a constant in all my drafts. Koscielny was a nobody in the early weeks while I was championing him for great things. He's nearly @10% ownership now. He's another constant in my team aslong as he's fit and Arsenal don't really capitulate. Coleman may not end up having the greatest defensive capabilities under Martinez but then again they won't be as bad as Wigan as Everton actually have players able to defend. And of course Mickey T. The man I named my team after and our one true hero. He's capable of keeping a clean sheet at home against anyone and can snatch a goal against anyone too. Chester and Ward should provide suitable cover and rotation options on occasion.

Three of the 5 speak for themselves. Mirallas, Walcott and Hazard. A gamble of sorts in Nathan Redmond but I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't have him after all my posturing. If he doesn't pay-off or play another cheapie will make himself known in time and can be rotated with Brady too.

There are a few "weak" people I'll have to rely on every week but the strength elsewhere will hopefully be enough. This is what I've picked and convinced myself will do the business and only time will tell if I've gone full retard by avoiding the DGW.

    -Cech
    --Coleman--Lescott-Mertesacker--
    Mirallas--Hazard--Walcott--Coutinho
    ----Lukaku--Soldado--Anelka

    Davis--Zaha--Chester--Turner

    Think that's my team. Thoughts?

Thoughts on this non - RVP team?

Tried to get the most effective team until GW3 and then its a WC to get rid of CHE players and get RVP in. Plenty of potential for price rises I think.

Being in America makes it harder to get a feel for it tbh.

With this team, I have 2m left over as well. Should I keep it for when I remove Ivanovic for something cheaper and could then get in Bale if he is here past GW3, or do I use it now?

Also tempted to bring in Toure as I think his price will rise.

    Here's my final team.

    final_team.jpg

Taking a shot on Morrison for the opening game, and have Benteke and Hazard for the DGW.

ok, some thoughts on this please, actually it's not a final draft so maybe i'm in the wrong thread, i have one or two decisions to make regarding the dgw. this is my team, i have 1.0 to spare.

i plan to put someone else in for RVP, but keep the money there to put him in in gw 2 or gw3.

do i use the 1.0 to put oscar in for mirallas? i'd like mirallas for gw2 and gw3 so that's my gw 1 transfer gone straight away. and then put negredo in for RVP with the switch back in mind for gw2 or gw3.

or do i just put lukaku in for RVP and use the extra 1.0 to beef up my team a bit?

    here's my team

    xSKpRHD.png

finished my team and i can honestly say i'm not happy with it, it's the above team but with oscar in for mirallas and negredo for RVP but with 4.5 banked to put RVP back in for negredo.
the dgw has f**ked it up for me, i don't want terry, and i would have rathered Mirallas and coutinho for Oscar and hazard an used the 1.5 to upgrade brady, anelka or morrison.
but we're all in the same boat, i was tempted to take terry out but having him in since the dgw was announced i know i'd kick myself if i took him out last second and he scores and keeps a cs or 2.
also not completely happy about oscar, it's a waste of a transfer really as i want mirallas back for gw 2 but again i fear others getting off to a great start if chelsea run riot.

Under Mourinho, I don't think Chelsea will run riot. Two solid 1-0/2-0 wins wouldn't surprise me. I think City are gonna run riot early this season though. Playing a team who was shockingly poor last season and then two promoted teams.

Chelsea will certainly be tighter at the back this season

solid looking team, great midfield, wouldn't touch it again before the gw closes.

good team, nicely set up for the dgw without overcommiting to it, you should easily be able to get out a couple of those players before gw3 when they don't play.
one small thing i might say is put in cuellar for o'shea, and bank the .5, that way if there's any price rises it gives you a bit of leeway getting out the dgw players. but if you prefer the look of o'shea just hang onto him.

Thanks for the advice mate... its Dzeko who i'm most uncomfortable with, I have an awful feeling he will be benched...

i think he'll be ok for gw1, it's after that he may become a concern, with aguero getting back fully fit, best hope he bags a couple and then pellegrini has no choice but to play him.

... but I could bring in Cuellar and with the extra 0.5 bring in Lukaku... oh the decisions :)...

    went with this,
    Mannone
    --Ferdinand--Koscielny-Jagielka--
    Navas--Hazard (C)--Lampard--Coutinho
    ----RVP--Weimann--Bent

Bench: Price (GK), Amorebieta, Anita, Mcshane?
Thoughts? I know weak bench and dodgey frontline aprt from RVP, wanted wolfswinkel!

If you want RVW I'd downgrade Ferdinand if he's not a must have for you and upgrade Bent to Ricky. Bent has just signed and not guaranteed to start this weekend. Maybe bring Bent in for Weimann if/when he cements a place in the team.

Thanks agreed i was think maybe kos instead of rio though as arsenal defence will be leaky again especially since its down to the bones as well.
