Newbie asking here, but for orientation/first year registration week are 1st years expected to stay up for the full week or do you just go to the time of your course?

(I know all of this will become clear if/when I get accepted but I like just knowing these things :P )

No you wouldn't be expected to stay up for the full week, just the few days for your course.

any idea as to when you pick your lab classes? it does not show them on the timetable.

During the first few weeks you'll be told when you have to go and sign up. It's usually during the first/second week when you'll be given the day to attend. For Biology you'll be automatically assigned a lab session based on your course/surname. For everything else, you'll have to pick your own lab/tutorials.
