    Mandatory "Wheel wizards" plug. :pac:

    Mandatory "Wheel wizards" plug. :pac:

No idea who they are, had a lot of alloys straightened from these Irish roads, but usually the tire place takes them in and sends them off, so don't even know.

    Found Metzger's crowd:

    http://www.wheeldoctor.ie/wheel-refurbishing.aspx

Compare this to the other crowd:

    http://www.wheelfix.ie/wheel-refurbishing/

The text on both websites is word for word the same, is it the same crowd?

    Also, one more thing.
If I was to sell the MX5, would it pay to refurbish the wheels and maybe do the roof, or would it be better to sell as is? How much would it fetch in the present condition with NCT? Condition would be paintwork OK but lots of little scrapes and scratches, hood, tatty, wheels, ditto, body good with no rust.

Wheelfix are Ballyneety Tyres (that's the email address). I don't know if there's an affiliation but it's possible that Wheelfix just copied and pasted WD's text as WD have been around a long time.

Got some new alloys as a birthday treat for myself :D

Just have to get new vw center caps...

    Thank you Mr Metzger!
The problem with doing things to a car is once the wheels are done, I will notice how tatty the bodywork is and once that's done, the roof is next.
And then it's suspension and exhaust. My MX5 has just turned into a project.
So, sell as is (project) or do it up and sell as good condition.

I would sell as is. You'll get what it's worth now but you won't get back all the money it will cost to do it up. Let the new owner spend that and get the use out of it.

Agreed. Thats kinda why I stopped adding things to my CC. Doing anything cosmetic just doesn't pay off if you plan on selling straight away.

As you can see, the K&N is much slimmer than the OEM... unfortunately i had to leave my recharge kit behind :( but i think the filter is oiled from the factory.

Havn't driven it yet but i'm hoping for good things :)

I cleaned my car, like always before a test.
Always have a positive impact on the tester given the compliments in my experience.

changed oil and filters today. New air filter made a big difference!

Changed pollen filter, discovered last person to fit it made an arse of it. Spoiled ourselves, went for activated charcoal version. Might try one of those ventilation disinfectant spray grenades too. Dunno how some people manage in their cars with musty mouldy smells.

Did you have M-pars when you were up with my E66? I don't remember them?

I know that sometimes it may look like I don't care about the Punto, but I do. It's been nice to me so it was time to do something nice for it. :)

Bulbs sorted, so no one-eye monsters here.

    Jacked up the car

    20466698089_5fae475727_c.jpg

Got underneath the car and was greeted with a 12mm hex plug. Honestly, this was the most frustrating oil change I've ever done so far, thanks to the monster who overtightened both the sump plug, and the oil filter. I didn't want to stick the screwdriver through the filter, but I had no choice. Even after first turn I couldn't get enough grip to unscrew it so I had to puncture it twice.

    20034127093_78bbd6ac04_c.jpg

Drained the oil, put the plug back in, put a new Mann oil filter on and put some Hypalube into it.

    20467069718_684a6c1987_c.jpg

    Perfect. :)

Never have to worry about that again. Ripped it out, end of story.
Pollenfilter change on a CMax is a sh*tting nightmare.

It must be in the same spot as the mk2 focus's so. The letter box opening in the passenger footwell. That is a pox hure of a place for access to it.
