How do you fly the Jumbo planes in the airport

Get under the landing gear at the front and press triangle, or whatever it is on xbox to enter a vehicle. You can only nick the ones that aren't attached to anything

There's some that have baggage trucks and stuff around them, once you get into the airport through the gate near flight school hang a right and there should be two parked on the runway,it's fun pancaking cop cars in them before taking off

Yeah, I tried to steal one that was all hooked up. No go, and I got slaughtered trying to shoot my way out of there. Fun times :)

On IGN [I think] they have a video showing one method of stealing a Jumbo. You drive right over, soon as you enter the plane hol area, to the runway. there will often be one about to take off. Get over fast and drive in front of it, in front of the wheel. It'll keep going but stop when it crashes into you. Then you can take it . You have to be quick and precise for this method.

Assume everyone flew one into a building to see what happens?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

Naw, I actually failed to stop the one I went for on the runway. Not actually flown one yet. I wasn't quick enough to get right in front of it as it went to take off, and got crushed a little :D

Not intentionally, but it definitely happened.

Try parachute in right on top of a jet then fly as low as possible outta there to avoid rockets.

Use a taxi to get there, then steal it. Activate a taxi mission (gives you about a 15-20 second head start before you get a wanted level), then burst through the main gate and head left through the car parks. Keep going all the way down that runway until you see the 'open hanger' on the right hand side.

If you used a taxi to do this, you should have plenty of time to hop in the jet and takeoff before the army starts shooting at you. Driving down the far side keeps you away from the tanks too.

Give the other 2 characters a call and go at it in a fully armoured car. The other 2 act as distractions when your taking off in the jet.

I did that for the cargo plane, michael and Trevor got in but poor frank was left behind :pac:

I left trevor behind and get a fairly threatening message from him afterwards. Id like to think he fended off the entire army by himself

Fast car and drive very fast, go left after entering and through the parking lot and then right, and fry straight out of where the jets parked as they can get into the air easily; get it into you hanger fast.

I was surprised at how easily I managed to grab one. Mind you, I didn't get far in it :D

I was parachuting over the military base earlier and got hit mid parachute with a missile.
Iv robbed that place blind but its always great fun going on a raid for a jet or tank

Live now on xbox, juts got the patch and am configuring my character

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Robert ninja

Servers are hella messed up for ps3 at least. Can only play solo mode and even then the first mission is glitched for me. Will try later tonight maybe.

I managed to get in, create a character, play a few missions, on first go. Had to switch off and head out for a bit, and had terrible trouble getting back on when I returned. I created a second, female character when I did get back on, went through the whole, un-skip able intro again .... and after the car race the thing froze up. Wouldn't budge. Think I'll leave it for a while, try again tonight once the initial mad rush calms down.

    Not a GTA forum thread.
    Not a whinging thread.
Games forum thread on the scope and ability for something like this to actually work.

If it actually works the most amazing online experience outside of an MMO in regards to amount of content and scope for gaming.

There is a ridiculous amount of content for this game online. I actually got online tonight for a few hours and was blown away by the sheer volume of stuff, granted the 16 player limit is prohibitive and the fact it clearly doesnt work. But is this what to expect from an online game in 2013? The scope is massive, the below list is just the tip of the iceberg.

Its got possibly every kind of online game all wrapped into one open world. Its Dayz....its Deathmatch.....its a racer...its coop....its free roam....its flying ...its driving.....its golf.....its tennis....

Will this game force others to include more in an online game?

    List taken from GTA forum

    General Pro Tips:

Dying costs 5% of your bank (maxing at 5k) so try to avoid getting in fights with random players.

Passive mode is not invincibility. You're still vulnerable to being shot from a car and being run over.

When robbing a store, kill the store keeper and take the money out of the register for more.

You can sell cars to any auto-shop once every in-game day (around 48 minutes) which usually goes for 4-9k.

Luxery Sedans and high end SUVs are the highest paying car when selling cars to the auto-shop.

You can withdraw/deposit cash safely from your phone.

All your progress online before the brown sync icon appears will be lost on turning off your console, selecting Leave GTA Online will save your progress.

The Radio Mirror Park radio station is the best station.

You can also shut down your console if you lost a great sum of money and haven't synced yet to restore your previous save.

When you find a good farming mission, repeat as much as possible. Most good farming missions you cannot choose to join and usually end up joining by random.

You run faster with no weapons out I think?

Gerald's missions seem to pay the highest. Would like to know if anyone has found any higher paying missions.

I found a crowbar on the death-match mission on the boat and got to keep it afterwards. It's awesome.

If you're not finding good matches on Quick Job try swapping sessions by pressing Find New Session.

Buying Armor before a session is usually worth it. It's cheaper then the 2k death penalty.

Blue moving objective points that aren't auto GPS tracked will appear under Quick GPS.

If a player in your passenger sets a GPS route on the map, it will also appear on your map.

Simeon's missions are time consuming and not worth the payout compared to Gerald's missions.

Use Find New Session to quickly warp back to your garage/apartment.
If you get a phone call from an AI, your characters lips will move, it's pretty funny.

When buying an apartment/garage, you will sell your already owned property and get about half the value back to contribute to the purchase.

Only the host needs to be the required level to start a mission. Anyone can play with anyone regardless of level requirements.

Press RT to vote for replay mission after everyone has liked even if the option is not shown.

Mashing jump up hills is faster then running.

Sports/Super cars must be bought through the ultimate motors website to keep in your garage, sell or modify.

Don't quit golf/tennis/shooting range etc. because you are losing. You still get rp (experience) for losing and for being a good sport you will get monetary rewards. Plus you still get points towards your skills. Races can be done solo.

They can give 500-1000 rp each time alone which can be a great experience booster. Keep in mind though that it costs 100 each time.

Players drop 100 every time they die, in addition to any funds they are carrying.

You have to start a solo/private game from the pause menu.

Blowing up other players owned vehicles deems you a bad sport, so be careful on your drive-by stick-bomb sprees.

On the other hand, shooting the all the tires out of a players personal vehicle is totally okay.

Heritage can influence character height in Character Creation.

How you set your time spent in character creation can affect how you look, though apparently some of these can be removed when you get an apartment.

Stores can be re-robbed immediately if you swap sessions.

Driving a car into an auto-shop gets rid of your wanted level.

Cops will sometimes chase you if the car you are driving is stolen.

All clothing stores have the same options for different items.

To unlock car upgrades you need to run races with that class of car and level up.

Holding back allows you to split up money that you get from robberies.

Wear a mask when you rob a place and remove it once you exit to drop your wanted level by 1 star.

    Good Money Farming Missions:

    [Violent Duct - 2-3 Minutes - 9k Payout - Gerald Mission]

    Spoiler:

Fastest money making method right now.

Run on easy for the fastest run.

Don't immediately gun at the start, instead sneak in from the left entrance and you can do a sweep in like 20 seconds.

Recommended 3-4 person party. Host must be level 15+.

Kill the gang and have a smooth ride to the drop off.

Nice, now keep yo mouth shut about me, ya hear.

    [Meth'd up - 3-4 Minutes - 5k Payout - Gerald Mission]

    Spoiler:

Low level requirement, can't remember exact.

Drive/run straight to the RV and drive straight to the drop off. Driving off road to the objective will make your life a lot easier by avoiding most of the enemies.

    [A Titan of a Job - 6-9 Minutes - 10k Payout - Trevor Mission]

    Spoiler:

Recommended 4-6 person party. Host must be level 24+.

Run on easy for the fastest run.

Have your team attack the hanger from both sides as you make your wait in, move the truck that's in-front of the aircraft and take off. Enjoy your smooth flight back and don't crash.

All I managed to do so far was make a character, that's it. Could not get online even once. I'll wait few days until hype goes down and servers will go from hot red to stable stance.

    It doesn't work...

Majority of people are having massive issues... if they sort it out it should be good, it's a piece of **** right now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,732 ✭✭✭Magill

I'll wait a few weeks before trying the online part of it, big games like this always have teething problems with the MP. Seen my sister playing it tho, seems really good.

Still.. there is so much more they could do with it, 64 man+ would be far better for starters.. maybe if/when the PC version comes out we'll see it get a bit closer to its potential. For co-op it seems like its incredibly solid tho.

Lets see how well they support it, with the micro transactions and stuff i'd be expecting regular content updates etc..could be pretty sweet.

You've not been playing much I take it, even at 16 it's rather griefy.
