Haven't seen one 132 yet! See June sales were 2000 down on June last year - reckoned to be buyers holding over until July & 132!

Who told you that? VW Ireland themselves directly, told me it was now a 1500 option... Unless things have changed again (doubtful).

Salesman in my local VW dealer. Am supposed to be signing the order sheet tomorrow, still can't see any info on the vw online brochure.

Will ring around in the morning.

I have only saw 2 132's so far a 132 fiesta 132-kk-4 today. And I was stuck behind a 132-kk-66 Mazda cx-5 (I think that's what there called). The Mazda crawled out my road at 50 kmh I thought I was never going to get home although it is a fairly bad road if your not use to it.

I'm not sure what to think of the split reg system tbh. It's good in the fact you can tell more accurately the age of the car. For example my mothers car is an 11 reg but wasnt actually registered until 1st December but yet it had the same reg as a car reged in January. It will be interesting to see the end of year car sales figures.

I've seen two 132s over the last couple of days. The first was a D reg Corolla and the second was a W reg Astra. Dublin Bus have also taken delivery of a new Wright Gemini bus with a 132 plate.

Saw that Megane planted on the barrier when I was on my way out of Mahon Point earlier on. How the hell he landed it there I have no idea.

He's probably out of date. The VW online brochure, haha, pointless. Hopeless.

Honestly, I think it's 1500 down the toilet unless you have the car on a track every week.

Drop me a PM if you want any info or advice. I have mine a week now, i'm a minefield of info on GTI's... delighted with it.

A car sold in january usually has far less numbers on the reg plate than a car sold at the end of the year.

Saw 3 today. First was rather unsurprisingly a Red Focus - 132-C-XXX. Next was a black Dacia Duster - 132-C-XXX. Finally a black Fiesta - 132-D-1XXX.

    How exciting .... ZZZZzzzzzz

...only seen 2 x 132's so far around here: one was a fabulous kinda-mocha coloured A5 - 132 CE reg.

Otherwise, thin on the ground so far. Maybe today a bunch will hit the road, the first Saturday of the month, in the new system, people off work...........

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. Joe you just missed the GTI reg

Dealers did try to get it for me by trial and error. I wasn't paying €1000 for it!

I know that. I'm familiar with how the reg system works. But in order to be able to guess a cars age (what month it was reged) anyway accurately you would need to know how many cars are sold in that county. Tbh I don't know what to think as I liked the old plate system and thought it was very clear. But if the split reg system boosts car sales I'm all for that but only time will tell.

I really have never understood the logic in expecting the number plate symbols to boost car sales, after all you can only spend so much on cars, all this does is change the timing of the purchase.

Unless you've really "Loads of money"(to waste) on changing the car more often than necessary and then what do you do with the old ones that flood the market.

Depreciation, is a real kicker when there is a load of nearly new cars in the forecourts.

They do, just don't list it on the price list in Ireland.

Was going to order one, but the driver couldn't get authorisation from head office for the costs. Ford would have ordered it for me though.

I'm sceptical enough myself as too whether or not the new system will boost car sales. That's why it will be interesting to see the final car sales figures for 2013. But you are right logically the change shouldn't cause a rise in car sales. But then people are funny so its hard to know what way it will go.
