About the first week in August

The license are issued frirst week of August they should be granted before that.

When I sent mine off in march/April. I attached a letter asking if my license was approved would it be possible to get a letter stating that my license is granted and will be issued the first week of August. So I could apply for my license for the rifle and as I have the deposit on the rifle the RFD were charging storage and I'd really appriate it if it could be done swiftly. Ok my letter was better typed and phrased better but you get the point.

And thank god I had the letter stating I was approved back in 3 weeks.

What stage are you at is it first app or renewal.

Come to think off it I think they sort there app by the dates they were received so all the application received the last month will be processed before the applications received this month. From what I remember anyway.

I received my renewals via e-mail. I printed off the forms, filled in all the details, and sent it back via e-mail. One day later one of them was returned missing a signature. I got it signed, and sent it back via e-mail.

Got an e-mail within minutes thanking me for the return of the application with word it would be processed. Much, much simpler process and instant notification of the progress of your application.
