The wet room in the house finally came in useful today for the first time in about three years, think that was the last time the dog got a wash :)

I have so much stuff to do..... so I decided to forget about it and clean my engine bay... procrastination at it's finest

    Procedure:

Some engine de-greaser sprayed where necessary
Left to dwell for 10 - 15 mins
sprinkle of water to wash it off
WD40 buffed with a cloth to give the finished look
Little toothbrush to get into the little nyooks, the long nozzle on the WD40 helps too!

    enginecleanafter.png

Same procedure today with a different car

It hasn't been done once in almost 5 years of ownership, there was plenty of dirt, pipes came off once or twice covering the engine bay in coolant etc.

Did a full decontamination on the E36 a few weeks ago and been doing it panel by panel when I've had the time with decent weather outside.

    I did the roof first:

    One side of the car:
    MUvQWzi.jpg?1

It's coming out not too bad with 2 heavy cuts with an orange pad, and a finishing cut with a green pad and finishing polish. Pretty hard paint compared to what I'm used to.

    Before:

    After:

    Did the bonnet last Friday:

Sealed with 845. The car has rough bodywork but I feel like the detail is helping it a decent bit :)

Oh yes!! Some nice correction work there! Any pictures of the car from a distance, since completing the job?

Gave the old girl a good clean at the weekend,
Iron -x on the wheels and washed off,
Snow foam using BH auto foam,
2 bucket wash using Carpro Hydro2Foam,
Dried using Dry me crazy microfibre towel.

Very happy with the results, even had time to take a few pics of her. (escuse the wipers still up )

Thanks lads, and yes the exhaust tips are in an awful state!!! I must give them some attention soon :D.

It's not actually a lake, its the Atlantic Ocean. It's a bay near Achill Island in Mayo.

As far as I know, the exhaust tips on the E90 are removable. I've seen them just pulled off an an E90 330d anyway.

    Beautiful background.

Even my wife's Almera would look good with that scenery behind it!

Machined and sealed the opposite side of the E36 today while it was dry.

I have lasting memories of a tractor down there, think it was regd in 1963. Yoke was like a sieve, there was that many holes in the body
Favourite past time of the owner was holding up tourist buses :pac:
I'll keep an eye out for a spotless e90 when I'm down in the summer :)

Most likely and a hand wiper to scratch it some more.

Bucket of water with a mix of grit.
