    Last 20 rounds. 10 h/c

1.78 putts per hole (32.04 per round)
    2.00 putts per GIR

    Fairways 65%
    GIR is 37%

GIR is poor compared with fairways hit but then the greens
at my home course are smaller than average. Still gotta work on the irons though.

WTF are you still doing parading around as a 20+ handicapper, at most I hit 3/4 greens per round, you have tour stats!!!!

For me my putting average is 34.2 putts per round, GIR stats are a woeful 2.3 though!!

If you have Golfshot and use it regularly then buy golfplan by Paul Azinger and it will show you where you are at per your handicap versus people of the same level as you who are also on Golfshot! Great App only €1.89 or something!

was only one round on a relatively easy course with very very receptive greens - once a year job!!

A low handicapper i know has a formula he uses which is simple enough. Give yourself 2 putts per GIR and 1 Putt per green missed. So if you hit 10 GIR 10*2 plus 6*1=26 putts. If you had 35 putts you will be +9 for putting if you have a handicap of 9 then u had a par day putting.
If you hit 3 GIR 3*2+15*1=21 Putts if you have 35 putts for the round then you are +14.
Works better for lower handicaps but the day you are - for your putting is the day you are scoring super.

Sorry Mike. not sure I get it. In the first example you hit 10 greens. So 10 * 2 = 20. But you missed 6. Should that read missed 8? Or am I missing something?

that should read missed 8 - Mike's idea is cool, but his math is awful!

For me on average I only hit 2 greens per round so therefore I should be hitting 20putts but my handicap is 23 so gives me 43putts?

for me on average, I hit 9 green in regulation according to the golfshot app.
    so 9*2 + 9*1 = 27+5 = 32 putts.

Sounds about right for me tbh

"For my handicap" I must be the best putter in Ireland:pac::pac: but to counter that I am the worst driver of a golfball in Ireland:pac::pac:

Sorry about the Maths, it just gets away from total putts.
If you hit 18 greens and have 36 putts you are actually putting better that a PGA pro. But if you hit 2 greens and have 36 putts its not quite as good. But 2 guys will say we are pretty much the same we had 36 putts each today.
Just by giving yourself 2 putt's per GIR and 1 for every green missed it gives you something to measure your putting day to day.
