Hello everyone. I need some help/advise/assistance with my boat trailer please.

My old boat, which I’ve used on Blessington Lake for a few years, is a 14 ft Mayland. Ideally, it came with a tidy boat trailer as my shed is 4 miles from the lake. However, some improvements are necessary on the trailer this year e.g. new mudguards, new keel/side rollers and new bow guides. I would like to get some suggestions please as to where I can purchase these items fairly locally (West Wicklow). Also, the keel of the boat deepens towards the stern so it won’t sit flat on the 40mmx40mm box iron centre beam of the trailer. What sort of keel rollers do I need to allow some vertical adjustment for a safe, snug fit to the boat please?

I'm not sure of anywhere in wicklow but these will post for free if you spend over €100 http://www.marineparts.ie/trailer-parts/#ty;pagination_contents;/trailer-parts/ or if your up in Dublin http://www.indespension.co.uk/dublin-location.html

You should be able to pick up something like this that you can adjust to your keel.

Just a quick update on my trailer upgrade project.

Sent the list of the parts I required to the recommended suppliers:

Viking Marine couldn't get the parts within the requested timeframe
Marine Parts didn't reply to my email
Indespension replied immediately with everything in stock and at best price
Truck Trailer Parts also replied immediately, very helpful, had everything in stock but were a little more expensive than Indespension.

I need more help and advise with this project please regarding the best paint to use on the trailer? It is only ever used in freshwater, Blessington Lake.

If it's galvanised just leave it as it is and if it's steel good old hammerite or rustoleum.
