Normally stuff like that are up pretty straight away after they finish in the US. I used watch the walking dead not long after it finished. Guess I'm gonna have to wait till my siesta tomorrow to see it and avoid threads and facebook until then.

I enjoyed it, Boltons bastard son is the torturer, didn't see that coming.

I'm only 15mins in but to quote from bran 'He killed a guest beneath his roof, that's something the God's can't forgive' This could mean business for Mr. Frey!

Also the Small Council scene was brilliant, Joffrey just makes me laugh.

Edit - The Blackfish to kill Frey is my guess!

    Very good episode!
The final scene with Daenerys was fantastic, seemed almost too hopeful to belong to an episode of Game Of Thrones, especially after how last week ended! I'm glad they chose that to end the season rather than a cliffhanger, it was refreshing.

Incredibly ruthless stuff from Arya as well. She's a long way from Robb & Ned!

Looks like just about everyone has had enough of Joffrey; I mean, he didn't even get supper!!!

I had hoped we'd get to see Tywin & Jaime on screen together, but looks like it will have to wait.

I could be wrong but I didn't really think of him as being the bastard son but more.... an utterly ruthless bastard. As in the Boltons are famous for being torturous and this guy might be the most infamous torturer known to others as "Bolton's Bastard."

Or he could be his son idfk.

Jamie is back! Wish we got to see a little more of him and Cersei, I really don't know how she will react.

I absolutely love Joffrey as a character, am actually hoping he doesn't die, it's far more fun to hate him alive :D

Danys story is gone a little stale in my opinion but it was nice to see some positivity at the end.

That scene where the Hound and Arya see Robb's dead body with the Direwolf as the head :( Looks like Arya is going to be a right little killer! :D

So, the only question left to ask is, when the hell is season 4 airing?!!

Also, we had our first acknowledgement of a bigger problem then the war of the five kings by Melisandre! Bring on the Walkers!!

Tied up a few loose ends i guess
Blackfish is still alive and Edmure is locked up in a dungeon
I really thought Joffrey would meet his demise this week
Glad to see Davos getting more screen time
The Theon storyline doesn't excite me at all
Lord Bolton seems a shrewd SOB
So much to take in since i haven't read any of the books, think i will rewatch it now
Roll on season 4 although don't know what i will do now every monday for next few months:(

Didn't think it was possible to hate the Frays more, but decapitating Robb and his wolf did it. Thought Joffrey was great, getting threatened and threatening Tyrion and Tywin. The red priestess has Stannis totally wrapped around her finger, he didn't even stop to question her sudden change of mind. Theon might be a prick, I like his sister though.

Really surprised that no one got this. In season 2 Bolton said he was going to send his bastard to winter fell and to spare iron born if they gave up Theon.
Then in the opening scene the guy was hunted Theon said 'You little b@stard'
And they was being flayed on the torture device which was the sidgal of house Bolton.

    A somewhat underwhelming finale.
If the foreboding in Bran's ghost story gets followed through then Lord Frey is in for some reckoning so there's that to look forward to. :pac:
And Sam dropping the dragon-glass knife doesn't matter 'cos he's got a load more of them.

The Theon storyline took up waaaaaaay too much time this season given the paltry payoff. It seemed fairly obvious it was Bolton's bastard that had him and the reason that "he has his own way of doing things" was pretty weak.

After three seasons they're finally waking up to the threat of the White Walkers. Who would have thought it would be Melisandre that first took the threat seriously!

Oh yeah and if you're gonna have it off with a wilding whatever you do don't turn your back on her when you dump her. :D

glad to see arya shark grow a pain of balls ( i no she cant but still)and knife that dude in the neck

iam glad that catenyn shark is dead she was a pain in the h1ole.

I figured not much would happen in this episode since there was so much happened in the last one.
IMO it was done well though having it in episode 9 because us tv non book folk are always expecting something big in the last episode.

Wondering who's going to make their move for the iron throne when everyone else is busy concentrating on the white walkers.

jeoffrey is played very well even though I absolutely hate him. Have to love how lord lannister and the imp treat him like a baby.

Also, Cersei expressing hatred of Joffrey... As if the Lannisters are waiting until they can kill their own monster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,270 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

The Starks have been getting their ass kicked for ages so it was good to see Arya get a tiny measure of revenge by killing that guy.

Davos is a great character, I enjoy the scenes between him and Stannis. Also "Why is there a G in night?" made me laugh.

Wonder if we'll find out about Stannis' daughter and her scaly skin?

Dany's ending was a bit cheesy, but I suppose some good-heartedness (if that's a word....) is okay after recent events.

Joffrey made a good attempt at getting back to the top of my most-hated list with his plan to serve Robb's head to Sansa but Frey still tops that list.

I wish they had more of Varys, another great character.

Only another year until season 4 :(.

    Where the hell is Littlefinger?!

Sets up Season 4 nicely, kinda feel a bit underwhelmed though.

Opening scene was good, more cruelty and brutality, especially decapitating Robb.

The whole Theon thing hasn't in my mind amounted to enough to justify all the time spent on it. I say "in my mind" because it may be important to the plot later, but we've had a season of torture and now we have a ship and a raiding party heading off and it seems a bit pointless.

Brann's storyline is getting a bit more interesting, had a Narnia feel to it. I suspect it may end up being important or they will take one step beyond the wall and get butchered... who knows!

Dany's story is fine, not taking up too much time and relatively interesting. Moved on a notch since last week but just enough to have a platform for S.4.

In fact that is what I would say about all of Season 3, creates a platform for Season 4.

Er what? she's killed a couple of people, outsmarted Tywin Lannister, called the Brotherhood guys out on giving Gendry up and told The Hound she'll kill him the first chance she gets, and was going to as well until he woke up, and backed him down in an argument with her.

Are they the Shark's of the hollow? :pac:

The Arya I know is what 11 years old? Seen her friend get killed by a man she currently shares her company with. See her father get beheaded. Have hope snatched away from her at least twice when the Night's Watch gets attacked and now getting within a few feet of her mother and brother before they are brutally murdered. In between she she survives with just Gendry and Hot Pie in the wild, faces off with Tywin Lannister, meets Jaqen a man she saved from certain death and escapes from Harrenhal. Not to mind meeting Beric et all and getting captured by the Hound.

To top it off she see's her brother's decapitated body with his Direwolf's head sewn on. All the while she's learned to fight and has proven herself the bravest person in the show, standing up to anyone where it's reasonably possible and more. To quote Robb Stark talking about advice Ned gave him about being brave while scared: (Season 2.8)
I asked him, How can a man be brave if he's afraid? That is the only time a man can be brave

I'm not sure about you but I know if I was 11 and had witnessed that I'd be a lot more than "scared of her own Sh!te". She grew a pair of balls a hell of a long time ago as far as I'm concerned!

Now that its confirmed who the torturer is, how long til Roose, and ultimately Tywin find out about Bran and Rickon and what should happen? Rickon will soon be at the hands of another house (whose name I can't remember), who will probably now have to be loyal to Bolton. My guess is that Rickon's fate depends on how they feel about the whole Robb thing

I'm hoping that Roose's bastard is either too psychotic to realise the relevance of what Theon told him or that Theon's sister will kill him before he gets in contact with Roose.

Good episode, no major surprises or any real developments, but it sets everything up nicely for next season. Next season should be an epic, the 3 remaining kings plus hopefully Daenerys (if she ever crosses the narrow sea!) versus the whitewalkers and their army. Mance Rayder's army will complicate things though.

Don't know what relevance the Theon storyline has, can't see that whole thing creating a difference in the overall scheme of things.

2 things that really pleased me were Joffrey getting "put to bed without his supper" and Arya killing yer man. The Hound has also quickly become one of my favourite characters in the series, his reaction to the situation was hilarious.

Yeah, "next time you want to pick a fight with four heavily armed guys, let us know first". - a suitable role model for the young lady.
