In general, this thread has fairly died in terms of car content compared to say a year or two ago. Have we finally reached the end? Are the luxobarges gone for good?

Yes I've noticed the odd S class but prices are gone way up since 2011 , still a good few lexus GS on DD that are relatively cheap.

The stock of pre 08 luxobarges on the road feels like it's down.
A good fuel price hike for a while would bring some luxobarges to the market I'd say

The AAs historic fuel price data tells part of the tale

    LPG ftw

In my daily v8, €45 of lpg got me 330 miles, that's 3 return trips to Dublin city centre and motorway speeds of cruise control set to 85 mph.

That's cheap in a near 2 ton barge.

In a luxobarge, 85mph feels like about 60mph. So well below the speed limit.

Larger cars also tend to have their own gravity field, which naturally effects time. As speed is a function of distance/time, they are well within the limit.

    Its simple science really.

The gardai are aware of these phenomena also I'm assuming ?

The signs of anger that someone has admitted doing 85mph or as its 2016 137kp/h has become evident.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/bargain-citroen-c6/12793963

That C6 is back on done deal under a diff section. (link above no longer works)

Spotted it for sale a few months ago up in Donegal and was for sale then for €1,500 with brake problems.

Motortax (put in reg 06 DL 6074) https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/pseVehicleSearchReceiving.do has it being transferred to a new owner on the 16th May.

So maybe the fella in Dublin took a punt and it's not fixed the problem and reason for higher price is to recoup the money he has put in it.

    €1500

Yup, €1,500. Which is why I thought it was trouble! Gorgeous car though.

That C6 would make a superb episode of Wheeler Dealers.

It would be the last episode. The one where Edd finally kills Mike :p

Went to see this C6 last night, always liked them and always wanted one. Was prepared to pay full amount if decent condition. This particular one was not worth it though....:(

This car was imported into Ireland in 2007 and has never seen a NCT center (first NCT was due on 29th June 2010 and there are no official records at present that it has ever been tested). Last time taxed in 2013. First owner had it for 6 years, second under 3 years and this year alone car changed hands twice. Car is not stolen, no insurance records, no outstanding finance. But it seems all it's life it has been owned by relentless cocks.

Where to start. Yes, servo brakes don't work so car can not be driven, trailer required. Even at speed of 25 it takes a massive length to stop. Rang Citroen and they advised that there was an official recall 3 times for this fault, they said official invite must have been sent to the owner at that time but car was apparently never brought in (maybe it was working fine back then). Citroen Service center quoted over 2,3k to fix this

Front bumper. Scratched from both corners, quite badly. Needs repair and painting.

Boot. Dent (mentioned in ad) and rusty scratch. Repair and painting needed again. Replacing better (if you're able to source boot).

Lights. Rear right cracked (has a hole actually), needs replacing, not fixable. €150.00 cheapest one on eBay. Front lights are bi-xenon. Since this is Exclusive package they should move with steering wheel. They don't, most likely mechanism inside is broken.

Rust. Visible bubbling (hasn't come through yet) around front chevrons on bonnet. Again, boot will need fixing and painting. Rust on inside sill close to rear window seal.

Dents. A couple of small dents there and there, no nasty ones (except boot) and normal for age. One on roof, not overly nasty but still visible.

Electrics. Switch cluster in drivers door needs replacing (quite pricey) as buttons controlling rear doors are dead. Rear electric seat (right side) either motors dead or switch is dead. Front parking sensors didn't respond, maybe dead. Everything else seemed to work.

Mirror glass on left door needs replacing. It's heated glass with anti glare (or whatever that is called) function so again, much pricier than normal one.

Interior overall good condition, but previous owner(s) has(ve) smoked in it so smell is there.

Engine. No funny sounds, no visible leaks. Seemed alright, but as car couldn't be driven I could only judge from idle.

Gearbox. Shifts ok from 1st to 2nd and in Reverse, couldn't test other gears for above mentioned reason.

Airmatic. Working fine. Wet spot on front right corner, could be from sphere. The rest of suspension couldn't be tested for above mentioned reason.

That's pretty much it. This beauty will need someone blind or someone with deep pockets and trailer to put her back on road. Seller claims all brakes and tires were replaced, tires didn't look new to me. Ad says no time-wasters and offers. It should have said - dreamers or blind buyers only.

Seller also believes that this is bargain at €3300 and advises to check with other C6 on Donedeal - problem is the only other ad (dealer from Offaly) is an equal dreamer who wants nearly 10k for same age but higher mileage car. :D

How the hell is the car on the road 9 years without an nct?

6 years, since first NCT would commence only from June 2010 for this one.

Current seller told me car was in storage in Donegal, don't know for how long. If it w long, scary to think what other problems will emerge when next owner will start using it properly.

A lot of people don't bother, seeing as (in many parts of the country) the law is simply not enforced.

Same reason a lot of people never tax their car either...

I know they're an absolutely gorgeous car on the outside, but inside, aren't they a bit like a..Citroen?:P

I can't tell if the zero at the end or the two at the start is the typo, this car could be 2500 or 5000. Probably 5000 to be fair, walk out the door after handing over just a bit more than 4000.

I thought it was a mistake too until I seen the very same price on the same add on another site.
