    Just a quick question.

Am applying for a substitution of shotgun (like for like). Have filled in the FCA1, got the "left in gun at dealer" form. Now the thing is do I need leave at the Garda Station the shotgun licence for the gun I've left in with the dealer along with the other two documents?

    No.

You hold onto your license in case the new application is refused your old license stays valid.

If granted the new license then the old one becomes void after 2 weeks.

In to the Guards today, "have you a trigger lock or gunsafe?" "Gunsafe".
Can you prove membership of Clay Membership? Yes. He takes details. Looks at membership. Have you photo? Yes. Says he will input in to pulse and they will process in Dublin.

We'll see how long this takes - will report back.

All this for a substitution - like - for like.
