Christ by the sounds of it them bangs must be quite crazy, dog engagement rumours going around:cool:

Tis bad form on my endo though! That sinking moment when that clunk rears its head....! :(

I have another steady mount here from a 306 that'll fit, driveshaft has to come out but the hardest part is the mount itself is usually stuck fast to the block..... Hope it cures it though :)

To be honest, I nearly got sick from the fooken smell that came into the car :(

I know the feeling, before I sorted the exhaust the fumes were coming into the cabin at a very alarming rate. Every passenger I had couldn't stand it, ended up coughing. Even my clothes stank of diesel and would have to change each time I went for a drive.

The smell of raw diesel was worse, it pierces your nostrils, hence why I whipped out the tank last Tuesday to sort that. That stuff is absolutely vile on the nose :(

Thankfully it wasn't like that for very long and I had been driving other cars in between (after yesterday I was in the Bravo today for example)

Hence why yesterday I was coughing my lung out, it loosened on the way down after it clouted a deceptive dip on the road

Saw a woman pass me today while I was walking and I'm not joking her seat was so far forward her stomach must have been touching the bottom of the steering wheel.

I don't know how people drive like that, she didn't even look short and stuggling to reach the pedals. She must have had to reach back behind her for the handbrake:pac:

Probably not! :P Sure they'rl be more made!

I've a fun weekend ahead, oh well, it's not my car and not my problem!

to those who don't know what I'm on about, a friend shall we say, well her cars left wheel bearing has utterly shat itself, along with some new brake disks and a few other niggely bits she's looking at a rather hefty bill! and that is what neglect gets you!

I was in a diesel sauna a few times. Clothes are for the bin afterwards.

Just curious to what sort of mpg do you get now dgt, can you still get 40+ taking it handy?

My seat tends to be so far back that it's uncomfortable for people to sit behind me otherwise my knees are hitting off the steering wheel, all my height is in my lower body.

As a result I look like some weird midget in my car :)

Ah yes, clothes saturated in diesel..... :(

After another exhaust incident in August left me driving the car very handy it returned almost 51mpg. Considering it has the larger flowing pump it still returns a very modest 45mpg on average (mix of motorway, r roads and city traffic) and if I'm in a hurry about 40mpg :) strangely those figures are similar to what Peugeot quote on the standard engine  measured over a good few thousand miles filling and checking :)

    It's ok, you're still alive.

On an unrelated topic, just reading a thread by a new user to here, why would you need to replace an airbag? I've had to solder connections, or get a motor recycled, but never been asked to source a replacement airbag?

Unless of course the thing has exploded.

Nice one, I was expecting you to say mid thirties when out for a smoke spin. I get jealous of the level of DIY fun you can get with idi's. Can't do FA to mine without a remap.

Mid 30s is when seriously driving the balls off it, on full boost all the time, coaling round town etc..... I don't bother driving it like that, no point! Power for overtaking and motorway does me fine :)

Its one of the main reasons I went idi against a HDi :) even di on its own is fun to work with (almost finished the 2.8 idtd, aiming for about 180bhp for example)

I can't see myself with a cr engine, unless its over 200bhp as standard....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,505 ✭✭✭Interslice

Had planned to to get 150bhp out of the van from 88 stock. Only bigger injectors(250 euro) and a remap(300euro) left, and probably a clutch soon after:pac:.
Alots changed lately so think I'll have to sell it next summer or even earlier, so might leave it as it is now. Not worth the expense unless I'm keeping it and I've a feeling it will be worth less if I do go for it. Going to loose enough on it as is. Well over a grands worth of new parts put into it over the last 18 months.

Think I'll go petrol or idi diesel for my next yolk anyway.
