Anyone know what the story is with driving up the north.
Is it penalty points for speeding or just a fine?

Can anyone remember a sitcom that RTE made that was basically a copy of friends. It ran for one season I think and was canned for being absolutely rubbish?

I know its not motors but I can't remember it

That's more better! I know a lad in Cork had a Dodge Ram with a Viper block dropped in to it. Some yoke to burn rubber.

Now I think of it it had an 8L V10 - good lad Max! :)

I think they took the Ram engine and dropped it in the Viper originally

    The Cassidys? With Ed Byrne?

Horsepower is only one part of the picture, my car has less than 272 but would obviously annihilate your car until it bangs into 130mph (I'm not willy waving here just chatting :) ) Weight and gearing have their big part to play

I just spent the evening discussing the merits of all the above along with chassis development with a tuner, my head hurts now lol

Yes, there is BHP, torque, power to weight, gearing, suspension, aero, etc etc.
A good indication is 0-60 and 30-70 times as an equalizer ;)

I was thinking it had to be a big dodge.

As far as the Cossie and the tank go, let's not forget how much lighter the old ford is, and it's AWD.
    I wouldn't write it off. ;)

I do think it was a cosworth ford the other night but I stand to be corrected.

Lighter? The 535d is only 1600 kg odd. This trackday is going to be fun, looks like there are a lot of people to convert to the ways of the fast oil burner ;)

Weight and gearing are far more important than than power though, once the car is being driven in the right gear the 30-70 time wouldn't be an equaliser

Aero not so much until you get over 100mph or so and suspension comes into play in the corners

Well if it was a Cossie it'd weight 400kg's less than your 5er, thats's nearly half a tonne. :p

Well no matter what it was the other night, sure twas no match for Olga (not to mention the smell of petrol coming from it)

I would be embarrassed for Olga if she was out-accelerated by an old ford ;)

(although I was reading online about how easy it is to get 800bhp from that dodge engine)

Your mistake was thinking they were racing you. :pac:

Now you're talking, you can make up for it by putting the V10 into the E60, just as Germany intended.
Diesel makes more sense in the truck anyway. :p

Doubt what? That it wont be fun? That the oil burner is not fast?

Sure, I may not be the best driver in the world to do her justice, having no track experience, but I think you are being a little overtly dismissive here tbh.

It was a 2 wheel drive cossie, ive never driven a 535 (btw max that's your cue to offer me a shpin :pac: ) i have driven an evo 9 and several fastish daysuls and this thing was waaaay faster:D

Btw Im not including my car in the fastish daysul category :( although at least with 2 new front control arms it now goes where you point it, not in random directions:p

I know for a fact the oil burner won't be as fast as the petrols around the track. Golf GTI's, TypeR's, Focus ST's etc will all be quicker, far quicker. Even with a 'Stig' driver they'll be quicker, I'm not taking driving into account

Top Gear test track isn't Mondello dude :)

How about a friendly wager? I'll put up a road going Teg R against the 535

You're the one that brought in the stig reference

And that's a fair contest, right? A seasoned track day veteran in a track you know well, against a rookie driver with 0 experience. Ill be going to the track day so we will see then. Until then it is just cloak and dagger rhetoric imo.

    Lets see in october :)

(Unless of course I have a complete brainfart and bring the dodge ram if I get it that is :P )
