Stupid, racist, ill-informed, and full of shìt.

That read like the ramblings of someone who watched a Youtube video of another person rambling and tried to reword so it looked like he wrote it.

It's unfortunate that it is this tosser that has publicly said this in one. Hopefully a serious paper will do a story on it.

Practically all of what he says is true. But not sure what his point is.

How does he propose we fix this?

But it's stuff like this that sparks a revolt.

    Sparks a revolt, I say!

(waits for a cheer from the rabble)

    But actually, I am serious.

The gobshyte is lucky to be still in a job after his "Snakes On A Plane" incident. He was a quiet man for a long time after that. He's the radio equivalent of an Irish Sun reporter.

So, he reckons companies shouldn't make a profit. Does he include his own employer in that.

He reckons the media are useless. Is he including himself in that analysis?

Wonder where he copy pasta'd it from.

The Neil Prendeville Show - Tuesday May 14th 2013

We have created a country that is governed by men and women who are motivated by greed and cronyism…. Employing as staff members, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, boyfriends and girlfriends, we have created a country that has people who won’t work now joined by people who cant work, we provide medical cards to Africans while irish children go sick because their working parents can’t afford a doctor’s visit or prescription, we provide social welfare to former Russians and childrens allowance to kids living in eastern Europe…..we have a local government who offer public authority housing to families who turn them down because the gardens are not big enough or its too far from where they grew up, we annually send hundreds of millions of euro of tax payers money all over the world in foreign aid, in many cases to country’s run by corrupt dictators, we pay politicians to go on junkets to the likes of morocco and sign themselves in as present in the dail……. While 500,000 under 25 years olds had to beg borrow or steal the price of a flight and for digs in Australia, England, Canada and America because Ireland couldn’t deliver and paid out €75 billion to overseas gamblers, who lost but still insisted on being paid back their stake. We would teach the Russians the rule book on corruption.

We gloryify pop stars who pay no tax in the country they live…. We tolerate both tax evasion and tax avoidance while we allow yellow flak jackets stop innocent law abiding citizens in the morning and ask them where they are going…… while we strangle the working man in tax to pay a dail full of politicians, a grossly overstaffed public sector, a health system that should be envious of a third world country and pay billions in welfare and benefits annually to people, not all but enough, who don’t need nor deserve them, except to work and claim, drive new cars and watch flat screen hd tv’s…….and we allow healthy profit making companies, many state owned, to consistently increase their prices and their profits…. We allow international multi national superstores to invade our country and decimate small to medium size irish businesses, many family run for generations, through bulk buying and below cost selling. We have toothless and cowardly city and county councils, a seanad that’s nothing more than a jolly boys and girls club for friends and failed politicians. We re-employ retired public sector workers while we deny young graduates jobs, We have a public versus private sector civil war where the public sector seem to believe they should be exempt to pain and have the strike weapon to threaten the government while the private sector middle class failed self employed contemplate suicide…..

We allow two year olds to die on the side of the road and a private health insurance system that’s being deserted by members in their hundreds of thousands as they flee to the public health system….. We have children going to school hungry , to an education systems that is in itself corrupt with cosy deals for book publishers, we have cars that can’t be taxed because families pay income tax, property tax, household tax, refuse tax, water tax, vat on products and services, bank charges, morgages, rent, food, heat light, insurance, books, clothes, footwear, petrol………..
And a toothless national media who have neither the ability nor the wherewithal to ask the hard questions………..

whatever about his past indiscretions to be fair to him he's right on some points, his radio show is built on inflammatory comments however and i don't agree with that.

He's making all those points, and then says nobody is doing anything about it. If he's so passionate about it, then why isnt HE doing something about it - he's in the media, he has his own radio show to drum up some support if he REALLY wanted to do something about it, and then has the neck to say that the media isnt asking the hard questions...???

What hard questions? everybody knows whats happening. This is neither a fresh topic, or anything new that people havent heard time and time again.

What is WITH this country? why does everything take YEARS longer to sort out than with other countries? Stupid kip full of people like Prendeville, just spouting out nonsense that we've heard before, sensationalising it for his own show's benefit - as if anyone forgot!?!!?

He complains about the mega companies coming here and killing off the corner shops. If there were no Tescos or Aldis then I have no doubt he'd be complaining about how the corner shops are bleeding us dry.

The man is a clown. He'll say anything to rile people up and draw some attention to himself. This thread is playing right into his hands. I hope this doesn't draw any more attention than it already has.

There is a kind of a boom going on there at the moment.
All jokes aside, there is a local construction comopany who have won some sort of contract out there, and a local kitchen company have opened a kitchen showroom in Lagos.
McNamara construction (of NAMA fame) have been awarded a €40m contract to build a new university in a northern province of Nigeria... who would have ever thought?

Brilliant responses from @ireland on twitter today.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
