Go to blackrock college then go to a school in a rough area, you will notice a huge difference in appearance, skin, hair, physique etc, maybe its because of diet or a less stress free life, but its very noticeable.

Is Ryan Tubridy symmetrical? I'm not sure he is.

    Only when viewed from above.

Disagree a bit with you there, just because mammy and daddy might be rich, it doesn't gaurantee that their kids won't be ugly, also anyone can go to the local gym or even buy weights and build themselves up.

Opened the thread expecting something about extreme right wing groups in Ireland.

    Dyslexic extreme right wing groups.

Why would you pre-judge someone by their face?? I don't think I ever heard anything so stupid!

Lucky so we're applying for jobs with written CVs before anyone sees our faces

Good point, they all seem to be taller as well, there's 15 year olds there who look about 23, not that I'd want to spend too much time hanging around outside a school :p

It's the first type, ie; quintessentially 'Celtic Irish'

So you're saying you think you're prejudged as being a scumbag because of your quintessentially 'Celtic Irish' look?

Have you considered that maybe you should accept your scumbag fate? I hear that walking around with your hand comfortably down your trackies feels great. I'd try it myself but I'm the spits of Ryan Tubridy.

TBH, I think that there is an Achill Island "type",there does seem to be an abundance of dark haired, McDonalds eyebrowed, pointey nosed and beady-eyed folk up there. Met quite a few of them andthought they might be brothers or close cousins, alas,no.

I think everyone is initially judged by how they look. I don't suppose it's something that you can't overcome. Also, I don't really see what Tubridy and O'Driscoll have to do with anything. Their status affords them the esteem they are probably given; doubt it's much to do with their faces at all.

It could hardly be said that doors haven't been opened for Wayne Rooney.

Phrenologists would have loved this thread.

The typical freckled scanger head which can be seen roaming around Ballymun at 1 am looking for someone to stab for a smoke, or cycling a stolen bicycle on the footpath in a perpetual 'wheely'.

These people, if you could call them that, tend to look like that due to their parents drinking heavily while they were in the womb. That and poor nutrition. Hence why they all have the same scaldy faces. (And oddly enough, the same personality, or lack there of).

Another example of people with the same face due to chemical abuse would be the inner city junkies, the ones with heroine faces and again, strangely, identical personalities.

I personally think the above mentioned people are products of the the most ignored social problem this country has.

What? I honestly don't understand what you're talking about at all. Is it just the face? What if there's an asymmetrical face but with nice hair and nice clothes, and exudes confidence/charisma etc...?
I don't think I've ever noticed anyone being treated as an inferior in society purely down to their face. Like who's really ugly? Steve Tyler, or Thom York - They are treated as gods. Very good looking people tend to receive more positive attention from opposite sex alright, but people in the middle sy the 3/10's to the 8/10's - I have never noticed a difference in general judgement and treatment.

No he's talking about the facial disfiguerment caused by feotal alcohol syndrome. If a pregnant woman drinks a lot of alcohol there is a pretty good chance that it will show on the features of the child. The typical look that people tend to associate with 'skangers' is that of adults with FAS, along with tight hair cuts on men and often but not always poorly cared for teeth.

yeah but there are plenty middle class alcoholics out there.

i don't believe the alcohol issue (not least because everyone from an estate and low income household is an alcoholic....)

I think it is just a combination of haircuts (mop vs skinhead),teeth (could afford braces/ couldn't afford braces) and clothes (self explanatory).
