Nothing Like Your Local...

    I headed down to my local for a few pints last night and as usual you get chatting a few people. Half way through the night a farmer that I know but never shot for gets chatting me asking was I still shooting and what I had. I told him I had a shotgun, .22 and a .308. He then asked do I shoot rabbits to which I said I do but they're gone very scarce around in me the last year or two.

    At this stage he started smiling and said if I bring you to a spot will you shoot rabbits for me. I then started smiling and quickly said ye no problem at all. I gave him my number so he could call me today and show me where the fields were.

    Sure enough I get a call at 1.20.
    He said that the place was infested with them so I was a little skeptical but once I got into the fields he wasn't lying. There are holes everywhere along the ditch and even in the middle of the field beside an ESB pole they have done some serious renovations.

    After some more chatting I said I'd get started straight away and headed back to the car and took out the .22. I spent about an hour and a half between the 2 fields just slowing doing a lap to get a feel for the field and finding out the best way to tackle it.

    I managed to get 3 in the first field and 7 in the next which I was very happy with for just walking around it. Hoping to get back down later and do more waiting then walking this time.

    I may get down to my local more often :)
