As a football fan I don't like the way this is credited. An assist should be when you set somebody up, a killer through ball, cross or pull back etc etc. That gif suggests to me that the goal would have been scored with or without Bale's touch.

But as a FF fan with Bale as captain I'll certainly take extra points if given. And I think that FF precedent dictates that this is his assist!

Rules is rules though (last player from the attacking team etc), what annoys me more so is the bonus points system where guys who are rubbish for 89 minutes and 55 seconds end up with all three, if Spurs had won 1-0 on Saturday Bale would have gotten 3 for the first goal despite playing his worst game all year, happened a good few times with Van Persie throughout the season IMO.

This is the rule on the FPL website :

Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored.

It touched Bale last therefore its his assist. He's my captain too so those extra points will be nice.

Actually, the goal was scored because Boyce miskicked. Now obviously defenders miskick sometimes when under no pressure at all, but most of the time they just hoof it clear. The likelihood is that, without Bale's little nick, Boyce probably would have cleared it. So Bale's touch, though not necessarily intentional, was very important in the goal.

F U C K the lot of ye!! I must be the only one here who didn't captain him, ye just cost me 5 points, I was 20 behind in my main money league now I'll be 25 behind when the leagues are updated, was also only 20 odd places outside the top 1,000, will be interesting to see how far I fall now between this and tonights match (I have nobody playing) and automatic subs, I reckon I will drop a couple of hundred places at least!
