    Glad sky cut it off.

He obviously felt he needed to go in and say it to stop any speculation but really was tough viewing.

Has Day withdrawn from the tournament or just his match today?

The whole tournament. And from the sounds of the rest of the interview.. he could be taking a longer break.

Tough to take that. Clearly not in the right frame of mind for golf.

Ooof, I was making a cuppa and missed the interview. Thank God by sounds of things. Poor guy.

This is cringe. I know his mothers sick but to go into the media centre and do that.

Cringe is a strange word to use, you lack a bit of empathy there andy, i felt really sorry for him.

Listen I know the guys mothers not well at all. He's rightly upset and broken up.

But to walk off a golf course halfway through a match with full tv coverage and head straight for the media suite and do what he did? Cringe.

Get home or out of view and release a statement, face the press later with some dignity.

For from cringe, he obviously wanted to set the record straight but it got all too much.

He does like his theatrics does Jason.

    Fantastic match.

Just Shane's putting not giving him results his golf deserves.

Watch the last slowmo (about 50 seconds in) replay in the clip below. Unreal at impact.

Shame to half that with a 3 putt. Great match

Gary Woodland is after withdrawing too. Shame - was looking forward to Rory playing him this evening. Soren will get the point from it tomorrow as well.

Not going to be easy for Rory to qualify now.

Tired of seeing this Hatton muppet and his temper tantrums. Think he needs to be forced to work a 9-5 for minimum wage for a few months and then see if he enjoys more hitting a white ball around a field for astronomical sums of money.

So is it the higher ranked player goes through if he's tied in the table?
Lowry gone according to Roe but can a win not get him thru with a Garcia loss tomorrow?

How would that work? If Garcia loses Rahm will win again.

Lowry can't win now v Rahm.

    Edit: he's lost 2 & 1. So that's that.

Brain fart. For some reason had top 2 going through!

Kjelsen is through, so Rory is done.

Never got to see Roe playing golf unfortunately. He must've been some player.
Never made a mistake I'm sure.

Absolutely. They need to do something with the format again. Who cares if a big names loses early on if it's straight knockout.

Nick O'Hern has a lot to answer for after all these years !!:D :D

Unfortunately some of the big names do and they are not willing to enter if they could be gone after one round.
