What sort of input does the monitor take?
could you hook it up to a jamma harness?

    4 BNC connectors - R, G, B & Sync

Think it would be doable to connect a supergun or something up to it yeah

None that I noticed, I'll have a more in depth look at it today & see how it looks. As for replacing screen parts for burn in...no idea how that works on projection systems at all. I'd guess any burn in is 'burned' into a lens or something rather then the screen/plastic/canvas?

Looked it up as a matter of interest, the burn is in on the lamps alright. So I guess if it came down to it then your idea of throwing a plasma in would do the trick.

Although if there's no screen burn now, I seriously doubt there ever will be :)

Actually, here's a question I've always meant to put to people with loads of cabs - do you ever power them all on at once? Would be amazing for that true arcade feel but jeez, talk about some drain on the grid!

There certainly doesn't seem to be any noticeable burn in anyway, so happy days for now.

Well atm I can't, the two Taito's are in dire need of restoration. I wouldn't chance powering them up at all. I'll be replacing everything in them, psu's looms & screen etc. My Tekken 3 cab has a monitor fault atm too, It needs a new flyback...really must get around to ordering one & replacing it! I ill power them all up though at some stage when they're ready :D

Oh yeah, I remember you said that about your Tekken 3 cab. That had HV arcing out of it didn't it? Scary stuff

It's a Hantarex polo 25 right? Might be easier just to get a new chassis for it? I'd say they're cheap enough.

Yep HT arcing coming from where the HT lead exits the flyback...seriously unpleasant stuff. Grantspain has replacements so I'll give that a go first before going down the chassis road. Think he said about €40/€50 for it, really must get around to ordering one!

It's a shame these 14 inch multi sync monitors Jeff is selling that I mentioned to you before clock in so expensive, they'd look amazing in your Taitos!. He finally has some back in stock.

    Whats the delivery on those?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33,733 ✭✭✭✭Myrddin

So after about ten minutes of being powered up, it freezes with a "Required Voltage Too Low" message. How very unlucky, I'm sure the seller wasn't aware of this issue at all at all...

    Now to troubleshoot!

Doesn't this purchase technically mean you've got the best dedicated arcade experience in Ireland?

Ah you'd be surprised at the stuff some people have, I'm sure there's far better collections out there :)

Yeah I'd love to see whats around. When you think about it, only a few dozen of us are posting collections here.

I'd say there is some serious swag and filth out there to behold!

    Argh! serious? :(

Probably a really easy fix...but argh! How annoying!

I'd like to give the seller the benefit of the doubt and say it happened during moving, but hmmm. I doubt you tested it for 10 minutes before disassembly :( - the perfect crime!

The folks on AO & J+ seem to think the Power Supply needs to be replaced. I'll have to somehow connect the Model 2 harness to a standard Jamma psu. Didn't get around to ordering one yet though, will get to it as soon as I can

Such a hassle these things, i still cant get the gun to work on Time Crisis! Im going to take apart the metal box the game boards are in tonight and make sure they are seated right.

Yup..PSU was gone on it for a start
Now looks like the whole board stack is fecked as well.
Model 2 boards are a pricey affair and rare to come by.
Its a real problem when getting these model 2 cabs.

Yeah moe from videotronics sent me one...arrived in 2 days but turned out that was dead as well! He sent me another straight away no questions asked.
    Good service

Did you send the faulty one back to him?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

No just sent him pic of multimeter readings from PSU and no questions asked.
He sent one that day .
God speed...can't wait to see that beast in action.
Can you actually play it before it conks out or what's the story?

Grand, fired him off an email there to see if he has another one.

If I start it from cold I can usually clear the first stage before it'll lock up, once it does though it usually won't last long on a restart. barring taking some readings with a multimeter I havn't messed with it much incase I'm doing damage to the game boards or anything

    Good stuff..
Yeah those boards are power hungry beasts, any deviation in voltage and they are known to give up the ghost..did ya check all 5v connections coming from PSU?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

    Thats a bit mad alright.
And that 5v is fine from every 5v output on the PSU,even when the cab decides to shut up shop?
