    Ah be realistic.

Paulie to carry 5 Clermont players over the line ala Ginger McLoughlin for an injury winner.

    23-19 to Munster.

I think no fan feels comfortable when his side are such overwhelming favourites, some of them seem to be looking for ways to hype Munster up and talk down their own chances. See it all the time on boards too.

Rougerie is out apparently, according to a French poster on PR.

Whilst he bleeds for Clermont, Stanley is a class player in his own right. If I was to take the Clermont aspect out of it, I'd probably rate a 28 year old Stanley more highly than a 32 year old Rougerie.

Rougerie is one of their talisman. If he's out its definitely a positive for Munster. 14 more injuries and we're in with a real shout.... :p

I agree he is a loss, but they can take hit better than we can in terms of injuries. I'm hoping James is fit, then someone should barge into Parra, then James becomes the goal kicker,,,,& on the way to the final.

Penney is going up in my estimation, hoping he can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Regan King is the more likely replacement, no? Also a class act so Clermont won't lose much in playing ability but losing your captain so close to the game can't be good.

Edit: people know that the Rougerie injury is confirmed and he will not be playing, right?

Everywhere is reporting it, including l'équipe. He won't be playing.

    Scorecast closed.
42 entries. Thanks for entering. 1 or 2 may have wanted to wait for teams to be named so maybe someone else can update if they wish. Hopefully it will be an away forecast that's won the inaugural boards scorecast.
Have a great trip to anyone else from boards that's heading over.

I'd agree he's a loss. He's the spiritual leader of the side (and, given he's captain, the actual leader also, duh). However, he's getting a little bit older. He relies on reading the game these days more than his pure power and pace that he once had. Stanley is a very, very good player. Not quite top class but he'd walk into international sides in several other countries.

Losing Rougerie might weaken them in terms of pure drive and desire but not at all in terms of ability and class, for me.

It's definitely a good chance. Overall this season, Stanley has played more at 13 than King but you'd never know with Clermont. Both are very handy players. King is probably more of a natural 13 and Stanley a natural 12 but both have featured regularly in both positions this season.

I think we're all agreed that Munster will be much better off keeping their eyes on the man at 12 this weekend anyway!

A line from Franno's preview in the Herald today:

"The key to the game, as it always is, will be O'Gara's contribution. His role is not to release the Munster backs – you wouldn't release them even on parole."

Has this been posted? What the French are saying in their thread:

    http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cybervulcans.net%2Fforum%2Ftopic%2F53585-demi-finale-hcup-asm-vs-munster-avant-match%2Fpage__st__2880

Seems like some of them want to avenge Kearney! :P

To be fair, if you look at the season as a whole he's not entirely wrong!

It's a good line, and wouldn't be funny if it wasn't partially true!
