BMW, leather and EW only in front. heck even my 99 Octavia had both front and end EW!

That was an optional extra on your car ;)

I bought a new Octavia in '03 (for a family member) and all 4 windows were manual in the standard model...

My Dad bought one new in 99, the basic bog standard one with hub caps and even that had leccy windows up front. Didn't realise they were even an option.

The one I bought had an optional package (Ambiente) which cost a bit over €1k and was good value. It included 2 front electric windows, a CD player and an upgrade from 14" to massive 15" steelies with plastic hub caps :D

Probably an Ambiente too. The dealer told me at the time that the Classic was an option (special order) but nobody was getting them and you'd have to wait 2 months for one iirc

I would be more worried about the casette radio than the lack of electric windows in the back. Tapes in 2004, FFS...
Other than that nice looking car.

I'd much rather see a Tape Player in used cars nowadays as I play all of my music off my phone so I can just throw in on of those Aux Casette yokes. Keeps the dash looking OEM too.

That Renault is bangernomics personified! Love it.

This is going to disappear fast, it's priced at 1075 quid; TD Corolla, 97,000 miles and a new NCT. I'd buy it only I'd have to bend over backwards for insurance.

Edit: nigs, it's not a TD.

The petrol version makes for a better buy imo and going up to the 1999 model would be a better bet if buying a bug eye e11. That one is a 97-98 model registered in early 99.

Someone appears to have stolen the wheels off that Audi. And is that rust I see beside both rear arches?

I see that car around, body is in absolute bits
It only got those wheels lately, think they're off a transporter or something.

I think the renault is gone

Not surprised really. Low mileage old cars like that are ten a penny in this country. It was a cheap as chips car that will be a classic in a few years.

Hopefully she is gone to a good home and not some fellah who said i want something cheap to drive til she dies and has the logic that the car isnt worth servicing.

From what I know the dealer was only selling it to a good home.

So that's only about €800 without the tax. Nice bangernomics, well wear

Plenty of poke in the 5 cylinder turbo engine. And just 2l tax! Do the belt on time and the engine / autobox shouldn't give any trouble

The belt was done over three years ago by the looks of it and it hasn't covered much mileage since. Volvo belts are also good for ten years if the mileage limit is not exceeded.

Only two owners on it and serviced last September going by the sticker in the door.

They look more like old Golf wheels...

I think they may be off a Caddy or a Transporter.

Not sure what that engine is like but a bit of tax and loads of test and just look at it. 407 is such an under-rated car imo.

On BMW E46's you can install an aux input and keep the OEM look. It's a BMW part available from dealers

I had that done too, high horse, on my E60 BMW (which has a CD player, but even CD players are so 90s :D)

bmstuff, a regular poster here, did it for me for €70 all-in:

    1. provide aux cable
    2. connect aux cable to built-in stereo
    3. fit the aux-in in the dashboard
    4. code the computer to know it now has aux-in

Works a treat. Can't beat having a thousand CDs on your phone :D

Engines wouldn't concern me too much, it's the sensors and electrical goodies that would be my biggest worry on the 407.

Get one with as close as a 2 - 2.25 year NCT as you can, on which everything works. Worst case scenario is that it is for the scrapheap (€250 back) when the NCT is up (and if you're very unlucky a couple of hundred before then in case of an essential safety issue like airbag or abs)

The petrols are a lot of car for the money. If you're lucky all it costs is routine maintenance and a few hundred a year depreciation. A new tiny sh1tbox depreciates at least 3-4 thousand in the first year!

Yep. Regular bundle of joy id wager. There beyond boring but the tax makes all the difference on these yokes . If like me your nct is due, and the car (volvo s80) needs tyres ,tax a belt and service, the boring avensis starts to look attractive...

    Its a "new model" though.

    So its an F10.

(Which surprisingly has been around since 2001!)

Ah I didn't realize that. Well, looks like I can broaden my search then.
