Even with the NDA being lifted, i can't find any in depth info about crafting. mmorpg have an ironically titled "in depth'' view of crafting. They dont even list out all the different proffesions!

good vid, second part is better than the first so i just linked that.

Character creation could be better. Facial details are fine but there aren't any options for body types. A fatty slider or height slider would have been nice :(

There is this website with a small amount of information on crafting although it is in german so you would need to translate it.

This guy does some crafting, around the 8 minute mark. Haven't watched it all yet, so i can't really comment.

Got a stress test invite for this weekend, check your emails I'm sure many were sent out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,115 ✭✭✭Completionist

Participating in the stress tests now reward you with an ingame title at launch.

Also, I have a spare stress test key I will give out later this week to one of the more active posters in the MMO subforum if there is still some of you that have still not gotten access yet:)

If i had something capable of playing it, i'd be all over that :(

    I would love it!

I don't mean to push too much and usually don't toot my own horn but I have been waiting for this game for so long and I have given out more than 20 full versions of rift on the mmo forum. I still have more by the way if anyone is looking for one.

    Key is gone now:D

Glad to see they decided to incorporate single player 'dungeons'. One of the things i never got over in mmos is how i had to make sure i was free for x amount of hours to do a dungeon/instance. I usually avoided them while leveling for this reason. This suits my ever changing time table :D

Still a small chance of getting into the full beta over the holiday period:D

We live (and play!) in the future. While the Chua Engineers might not be around, that's not to say they are unaware of the ability to schedule tasks to happen in the future. Although being Chua, who knows if that function will actually work...
That being said, any waves that do manage to go out in the next two weeks would be SMALL waves. While those of us who work in Operations generally don't get to take holidays, I'm trying to give our guys/gals a small one this time around where I can. We will be on call all the same, but we'd really like for our phones to not ring :)

The game is really fun. Felt kinda grindy but I like that. I will def be buying this day one / pre ordering. Thanks again for the chance to play last weekend completionist!

Seems a new wave of beta invites went out, Still no luck!:(

I found an excellent and proper in depth article about the crafting system. Tradeskills actualy look like they're going to be fun and useful while leveling!

    no luck here either :(

none here either ow well, beta's usually ruin the shiny and new experience on launch. Saw some live streams it looked good, more interested in eq next at the moment though. Il probably sub to wild star for a while anyway.

What do you mean exactly when you say it feels grindy? As in it takes a while to level or that there's a lot of tedious leveling stuff?

Hrm that actually sounds pretty good, the achievement trees is a nice idea. Another reason to keep Wildstar on my radar.

No beta invite combined with the most likely world of warcraft style child friendly gameplay means I won't be bothering with this.

Quite enjoying the beta, combat is fun, loving the art style.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭Lone Stone

Do the controls and animations feels as natural as wow's ? you know like when you turn the camera around your character turns slightly with it stuff like that ?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,809 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

I noticed straight away the animations while in combat seem very fluid with one skill animation flowing into the next flawlessly if that's what you mean.

Not gonna say too much with NDA an all but i am really liking the game so far, only level 10 but can kinda get how it's panning out.
It feels like the mmo i've been looking for, very WoW like, real smooth and easy on the eye, quite complex as well, need a good 12+ hours to get my head around it.
it does have sticking power after you spend an hour or 2 at it.
