I would say that is pretty standard in A and E all around the country on a weekend night.

We have an appallingly disgusting attitude to drinking in this country and an inexplicable tolerance to drunkeness.

You have a point BUT Triage assesses who gets treated first, clearly you were not more urgent than others.

It's also my understanding that if you arrive to a and e in an ambulance you get treated 1st.

Yep, spent a night with my late father in A&E once, not pleasant at all. Felt so sorry for him having to spend a night there because of a horrible illness, while gob****e after gob****e came in locked and out of it, shouting abuse at staff and puking into bags etc.. Dreadful that decent people have to put up with that.

I remember reading about a chap in Engerland who used to get severe chest pains every night in the pub at chucking out time.

The staff would call him an ambulance.

They'd arrive and cart him off to hospital.

By the time he got there he'd be fine and get up and walk home.






He lived nextdoor to the hospital !
