Never has a car caused so many posts on this thread.

Yeah, I know lol. Its a golf. and a mark iv one at that. I dont even like golfs, but I can respect that some people love them.
Its a top spec model ac leather bucket seats, sunroof. etc.

Golfs remind me of the escort era. It could be worth something more than purchase price in years to come.
THere was a time when you could see escorts on every street corner. We even trashed a few rallying around the mountain and forestry roads and didnt think anything of it.
Everytime I see an escort for sale now, my heart drops with 1) the price 2) why the f88k did we trash those cars!!

GLWS. Please let us know how many "Whats your best price?" calls you get.

Or "How long is the NCT valid for?" "Does it have a service history?"

    :)

I think this would make a nice future classic run about if a bit of cash was spent on it, fail sheet included apparently.

It'd wanna be got for less than the asking price though to make it worthwhile.

I had a 1993 405 GRDT a while ago and it was probably one of the nicest cars (honest!) I've had.

Fantastic engine and great spec (it was a UK import in the 90s). Bought it taxed and tested with 100k miles for €250...couldn't insure or afford to tax it and sold it on, regrettably.

    Nice accord .
Needs clutch doing , but the kit is supplied.
    Nct to may .

I don't believe that's the only thing wrong with it. The clutch and flywheel alone would be way over the asking price of the car.

If I was to take my pick: cracked exhaust manifold and broken traction control unit...

My money is on the chains. He mentions the bearing noise and from my own experience the chains are the weakest thing in that engine.
Could be wrong though but I highly doubt that lad is willing to let an entire car go with a new clutch and flywheel kit for less than the price of an actual flywheel.
    Essentially the car is free

There may be a big difference between new and what the ad describes as "spare".

Looks like it has never seen a drop of water and a sponge in it's life.

No NCT, no tax, needs ball joints and there doesn't look to be a clean panel on it.

It's probably on original oil and filters as well.

€650 would probably be a bit rich, IMO.

    +1,

Also 160k miles, big mileage = big engine wear if it hasn't been serviced correctly

I'd say the dirt is also there to hide the huge amount of light panel damage

Audi A4 Quattro TDI with intergalactic mileage and needing some TLC but 8 months test left. With a little TLC might be a nice run around for someone who works in farming or forestry etc.

It probably had some unpleasant bang on the frontend, by the look of a front itself, as well as the steering wheel.

But, well, 295 quid asking. Yet another good deal for breakers maybe. ;)

The fact the timing chain was done is a huge bonus. I love the colour too, very fresh looking little car:D You'll have no problem getting rid of it.

I've been told by the owners missus that theres a good chunk of the asking because she wants it out of her garden. :pac:

They're not my thing, but seems to be well looked after.

My parents have a 2005 Almera hatchback which they are thinking of selling.
They are abroad until next year so the car was declared off the road but wondering what sort of money it would be worth, in my opinion nearly nothing.
They've owned it since new and had the lights issue fixed and some other issues it's renowned for.
Tax is out and I think it's nct till December 2017.
No idea about service history but I imagine it ended once the warranty was up.
Battery is pure dead at this stage and at least one flat.
Passenger side window doesn't work with the button and I believe the central locking on the fob doesn't work.
    Realistically what? 500?
