Would you buy a car without seeing it first?

Well Ray is dead and Stevie is probably rich enough not to be considering €350 cars!

Yup the OH is getting it. Selling her puma to cover the cost of getting the fto back to original condition, her idea.

    Now that's what I call a keeper :D

A new battery might fix that.

There's a grand to be made on that, that's not wasting money.

Well if it's still around come Thursday and I do go to Cork we'll see. If that's all that's wrong with it it'll be gone by then.:(

    Will u take €390? :D

If she had nct, i'd be all over her.

Speaking of ex. Taxis, I bought this one today, no NCT but we had it pre-NCT checked. It needs about e150-e200 spent, on bushings, a bearing and a few links: http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/price-drop-for-quick-sale/5190238

The tax until the end of November is nice and takes the sting out of the few repairs needed.

I think it might still count (kinda, nothing in the rules about it). Would really suit a 6 county fixerupper fixer :)

Engine trouble in these usually means big bucks will need to be spend to put it right. The way the seller isn't specific about what the issue is would lead me to believe that this is the case.

tbh even if it was on Irish plates id be avoiding it.

    What goes wrong with 'em?

Turbos and timing chains amongst other things.

Caused by incorrect grade of oil, usually gobsh*tes cheaping out  timing chain rattle is a giveaway....

Don't forget cracked manifolds on early cars ;)

No iv‘e seen these issues occure even when the correct oil is used. it seems to be more down to the car itself rather than maintainance. later cars seem to be improved though and don‘t give as much trouble as the early exanples of these.

For the very few of you watching with interest :pac: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=85067913&postcount=6392

my free punto that some of you may remember. having parked it up and never so much as batting an eyelid at it for a month i said it was time to move it on. local scrap yard offered me €120 for it which i thought was very very good.

fiona bet me it was worth more though, i told her she was mad and if she thought it was worth more that she could sell it :pac:, so i found myself eating my words.

advertised it on donedeal on wednesday night around 10pm for €350 or nearest offer (advert stating, no tax, no test, needs repair work). had two interested calls on thursday and sold for €200 thursday night.

don't know what the moral of the story is really, just kind of shocked it sold tbh. glad to see someone going to keep it on the road though, it served our family very well.

If you're thinking of scrapping your car, throw it up on donedeal first for 350?
