    I am thinking of getting another shotgun - my budget will only run to around 1k. Would it be better to get a new Lanber or Bettinsoli ? Or get a second hand Beretta or Browning. As we all know times are hard. So any comments are appreciated. For what it's worth, my feelings are a middling new gun is better than a second hand unknown gun.

    Look no further;

    €1,000 brand new. (depending on dealer)

    Other new makes in that price range include;
    • Bettinsoli Diamond
    • Bettinsoli Zephyr
    • Kral
    • Baikal
    • Yildiz

    From €1,000 down to €500.

    Second hand you can have a far better choice of better brands. There are a good selection of Beretta, Browning, etc. I'm a Beretta fan. Always liked them and have used them solely for the last 10 years or so. So i'm biased.

    I'd be inclined to go for a second hand higher end gun too, they're much better quality and are generally made to last a lifetime. I you look around you could pick up a little used gun for a great deal. According to some RFD's I've been speaking to, a lot of lads that were flush in the "Celtic Tiger" are having to scale down or get rid all together so there are deals to be got. It would seem it's a bit of a buyers market ATM. If the choice were mine, I'd go for a second hand Berreta, it could be the last gun you buy. ;)
