And with the sporting weekend that's in it, Listowel races, rugby world cup and all Ireland final, weather permitting it should be a success

When I see shops like this open, I wonder how they can stay in business for any sustained period of time. I know there is Yankee Candle in the Deerpark in Killarney which has been open for quite some time but such a specialised shop in a pretty dreary shopping centre , I wonder where the demand will come from after the initial flurry after the first few weeks.

I know what you mean, but hopefully they will do well. All the best to them :)

Good to read that the lady who was injured in the crash in Blennerville last weekend is responding well to treatment. It says in the Kerry's Eye that it was Dr. Caitlin O'Connor from the medical centre in St. Brendan's Park. Apparently her husband and kids were in the car too, but are thankfully ok. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

How many places can you get pizza in Tralee at the moment, a dozen? Think that market is a bit over saturated as it is

depends on the quality though, wouldn't really rate 4 star or Dominos and they are far too expensive. Pizza Time is about the only place for a decent pizza! Apache Pizza in Spar isn't too bad.

    Pizzatime ;)

But you've got New Yorkers also and a dozen other takeaways that do pizza also, best of luck to them, but its not going to be easy

Running is difficult... Starting off is nigh on impossible, esp in such an over saturated market.
They are going to need something to bring people back time and again.
Will go in when they open and see what the fare is like ...in the interests of boards research of course! :)

There is a fair bit of difference between a classic style pizza place and 4 stars/dominos. I imagine the new place will be more of a restaurant opposed to just focusing on take aways so will get a lot of business that way.

this is true, and I don't think they are going down the take-away route.

Work is well underway on fitting out the new Iceland store in the Horan Centre. Should be open in a number of weeks I reckon.

It doesn't look like Peacocks is going into the old Boots unit in Abbey court, the to-Let sign is back up in the window!

I was up in Manor shopping centre this evening and noticed there were quite a lot of the car park lights not working. I was a bit taken aback to be honest, especially after that tragic fatal accident up there not even a year ago. At the time someone mentioned here how badly lit up the place was and it looks worse now! They would seriously want to sort it out, before there's another accident.

Absolutely hate that car park, parking bays are tiny and the through roads are really narrow, makes coming out of the various car park sections of the onto the through roads needlessly difficult.

Is there any camera club or anything like that around town? Nearest one I can find is in Ardfert. Did find a thread from last year, seemed to come to nothing though. Is it ok to necro that?

In other news, I heard a helicopter, sounded pretty low too above oakpark/killeen area last night about 11.30 or 12. Anyone know what it was for?

probably the air ambulance, it always seems to fly over Oakpark area on the way to the hospital. It is always very noticable. Freaks me out a bit, always reminds me of a sad time....

hard luck to the Kerry senior team today, very disappointing, but at least the Minors did the job, well done to them. Looking forward to seeing them tomorrow evening on their homecoming.
