Watched Rain Man last night - very good film, Cruise was good but Dustin Hoffman stole the show

    Omg this interview is painful

Personally, I think Tom was the better actor in that Movie, but that isn't a popular opinion.

I'm Irish, where the feck is my certificate?

Met Tom Cruise donkeys years ago, in his pre couch jumping, relatively sane days. He stayed in the hotel I worked in while he was here filming Home and Away. He really couldn't have been any nicer.

He was staying in the Westbury, but had to move out as MC Hammer was staying there too. MC and his massive entourage of dancers used to keep all the guests up all night with their hard partying, so Tom et al moved out to my hotel in Ballsbridge.

Knock him all you want, but 20 plus years later, he is still here. Where is MC Hammer? :p

I think it was his best movie. Hoffman was outstanding in it too.

To be fair Tubs is doing okay tonight (aside from the oirishness) - like he's not being rude to the big Irish Hollywood star.

Tom seemed to genuinely love Dingle when he stayed there during the filming of Far and Away.

I was talking to a publican in Dingle who was comparing the time they shot Ryan's Daughter with Far and Away. He said it was great crack back in the 70s when Robert Mitchum and the gang were in town. The cast and crew would arrive in looking for steaks, pints and whiskey and sessions would last for hours. Fast forward to Cruise and co and it 'was all fecking Evian water and egg white omelettes !' - No fun at all
