FaceBook revisited

The Google thread got me curious about facebook again.
Since I started college I have been getting pushed closer and closer to being on it and I dont reallly want to.
I already get weird looks because my email is not in my name and also weird looks because I am questioning signing up for things online and giving my personal information to corporations for student license agreements. The latter there was no need to do so,but I got a weird look for saying I didnt want to lol
Its quite strange. I think people simply sign up for everything and put their real names in too.

So heres some new policy change docs I came across.
    https://fbcdn-dragon-a.akamaihd.net/cfs-ak-prn1/676641/517/256230001169573_786305489.pdf

Il post some interesting or not so interesting parts.

Its quite large and I doubt many people ever read this global governance change they have voted on.Apparently the end date was dec 2012.
This Statement of Rights and Responsibilities ("Statement," "Terms," or "SRR") derives from the
    Facebook
    Principles
, and is our terms of service that governs our relationship with users and others who interact with
Facebook. By using or accessing Facebook, you agree to this Statement, as updated from time to time in
    accordance with Section 14 below
For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings you grant us a non exclusive, transferable, sub licensable, royalty free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License)
You will keep your contact information accurate and up to date
I didnt know this was a legally binding rule ^^
    Special Provisions Applicable to Devel
    opers/Operators of Applications and Websites.

We can analyze your application, content, and data for any purpose, including commercial.

Special Provisions Applicable to Users Outside the United States

    You consent to having your
personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.

By "Facebook" we mean the features and services we make available, including through (a) our website at www.facebook.com and any other Facebook branded or co branded websites (including sub domains, international versi
ons, widgets, and mobile versions); (b) our Platform; (c) social
plugins such as the Like button, the Share button and other similar offerings and (d) other media,
software (such as a toolbar), devices, or networks now existing or later developed.

By "information" we mean facts and other information about you, inc
    luding actions taken by users
and non users who interact with Facebook.

By "content" we mean anything you or other users post on Facebook that would not be included in
    the definition of information
By the way "facebook" is ment to include other networks? whats that mean?
See content....That means anything you post on other networks? how does that work?

Anyway this is probably not worth the time I gave it :D

    But meh.
I wanted to post that and ask the odd question.
While also asking the Ct community whats the latest on FB and I would like a refresher course on the Ct that it is run(or was backed) by the FBI or CIA.

    Is that just a CT?
Or am I in the wrong place?

I'm on facebook, don't trust it though. I don't think Zuckerberg believes in privacy at all.

Thinking about closing my FB account, did it last year for a few months. I keep coming back because I have family in Oz, and it's great to chat with them.

thats one of the better reasons.I have a fb account but its just to keep an eye on what my young fella is up to(big daddy is watching you etc etc :D)

as a piece of software i fukking despise it.You need to have a law degree to understand the privacy sh1te!

I made a FB account years ago.It sits idle.I have a message on it to say dont bother contacting me I dont use it for data protection reasons or something like that.
I presumed once the pictures are up they have been saved in the states and backed up.
Unless if I delete my account and info and on my contacts added they also lose my profile info.
But on the CT side of things IF it has the FBI/CIA etc behind the scenes it wont matter if I delete the info.
But loads of my relatives use it and keep trying to add me lol

Well Harvard is supposed to be where the CIA/NSA bank roll students and their ideas. While in the back round they have access to all user accounts.

Anyone that thinks the intelligence community doesn't or can't have access to FB is living in dreamland. The very idea that they wouldn't is ludacris. Imagine having all that information on tap and not looking at it???? Yeah right.

AHHH I hadnt really heard that about Harvard.
Im a bit ignorant in respect to the colleges.
That might be a nice area to research or discuss.
If you have any links to CT's on that or info I would appreciate it.

I believe he's nothing more than a front man that was bank rolled in college, the persistent rumors of this last year caused a number of news papers and píss takers to do a spoof about it. Somebody obviously wanted to quiet those rumors and make the idea outrageous.

    mark-zuckerberg-awarded-cia-surveillance-award/
Well, now it is official. Mark Zuckerberg was not so smart after all, but just fronting for the CIA in one of the biggest Intelligence coups of all times.
But there remains one small problem, the CIA is not supposed to monitor Americans. I guess we will hear more on that soon from the lawyers once the litigation gets cranked up.
Personally I will be more interested in how this is going to effect the stock offering and shares as all Americans should own the entity that has been spying on them.
And then there are the SEC full disclosure regulations and penalties. It’s bonanza time for the lawyers.
Could the loophole the CIA used be that, ‘you aren’t being spied on if you are willingly posting everything a repressive regime would love to have on your Facebook account, with no threats, no family hostages, no dirty movies or photos that could be released?
But enough with the lead in. Let’s take you directly to our source where you can get it straight from the source’s mouth, including seeing Zuckerberg getting his award.
We really need your comments on this below so we can speak to power with one voice…something that can rarely be done around here.

    The píss take.

Anyone who thinks that Mark Zuckerburg is the mastermind/controller of facebook is blinded and has been easily led on to that deception. He's just front The same way Obama is just a front for the elite to pull their strings. It's no secret that Mark Zuckerburg is a CIA agent and it's no secret that facebook was created as a CIA database network.

Facebook isn't a new idea, or a particularly inventive one. But like everything else it's not who does it first, it's the first one to do it well.

You don't have to be hyperclever to refine something that's come before. Right place, right time, and right opportunity. It, literally, could have been anyone of millions of people who created what we know as facebook.

Twisting what I said, doesn't stand for anything. I meant what I said.

It could of been literally anyone, but it wasn't anyone else. It was Mark Zuckerburg. It was planned to be so.

It's only a problem for those of you that a) upload all your secret stuff that you don't want the gubmint finding out about and b) are so stupid that you can't work out the privacy controls.

It's simple: don't put anything you don't want anyone to know about online.

As for "selling my data to marketeers", whoop-de-****n-doo. I'm already bombarded by advertising pretty much everywhere I go, it might be nice if it was for stuff I actually want.

It's not just like that. They are constantly changing their settings, rules and privacy settings. Which means they are not sticking to the terms and conditions they themselves created. They are constantly trying to manipulate it's network in ways to suit their agendas. It's a database network for the CIA. That's what it was designed for.

It's also why the elite are very comfortable using this site, because they are automatically protected by the law and CIA.

What you said has an erroneous assumption at it's core.

The idea that it was "planned" is built on the notion that Zuckerberg isn't smart enough to come up with the idea of refining another persons idea on his own.
He was, and so are a lot of other people, Facebook wasn't the first website of it's kind as you probably know.

So I think we can disregard that idea as the faulty conclusion it is.

Surely, its power would be somewhat diminished if people stopped using it??

And I would have thought the people who actually believe it's a CIA website might be the first to abandon it.

I've managed fine without ever having a Facebook account (mostly because I hate its design) and most of my friends and family live in other countries.

As far as I know Facebook won't be paying taxes anymore. Can someone confirm this? Sounds to me like someone is going to be owing a few billion favours to the government.

    Wrong; incorrect.

It's hardly an esoteric word, nor is it "random".
You might want to rethink that not reading books stance if that's the kind of adjective that confuses you.

I think the idea is, that everyone is being profiled and that the average person profiles themselves, doing the US government a favour of sorts.
The issue I have with this, is simply I respect my privacy and dont wish a warmongering state or any state to have a profile of my prsonality and habits and lifestyle.
To me it feels similar to going out the the local park and telling everyone what I had for breakfast, who my friends are and what I do for a living and my hobbies.
    Its none of their business.
Information is a type of currency and I dont give much away to strangers if I can help it.

If you know who to look for, type in their names. Some fake profiles may come up (and do) and some are their real profiles.

I am not naming names. I wouldn't like if someone named my name on a public forum as to who's who on fb. You wouldn't be pleased if some stranger was outing your profile on a public forum without your consent would you? That would possibly breach privacy rules here.

If you want to find out, use fb yourself. There is a search bar provided. Fb has a very powerful search tool now.

That is not correct. You have stated that:

People from Eastenders are on fb. I don't watch Eastenders, but there you go.
Quite a large percentage of the world's population is now on fb too.

    No.

Everyone is aware that TV stars/politicians/sports stars are on fb, this is common knowledge and it would be very easy to find their profiles.

You specifically stated that "the elites" are all on fb. So, instead of muddying the waters and avoiding the issue as usual, please provide concrete evidence that "the elites" are on fb and that

Or, admit that you can't provide the evidence and that your opinion that "the elites" are all on fb and they are protected by the CIA is just that, an opinion. An unsupported and, frankly, ridiculous opinion

I've told you what you must do, if you want to find them, if you can't do that you're not interested to do so. Don't play stupid games with me. I'm not keeping their identity secret. You have the tools now, use them. Stop relying on others to the dirty work for you.

    Just a FB search so?

No need to find names that are anagrams of evil corporations or groups?

Honestly, if you could only prove one of your stories and not ask others to prove it for you.

So what are you trying to say elites are not allowed to have fb profiles? Are you trying to tell me that you don't want to look for them or are you trying to say that it's not possible for them to have fb profiles. Do explain.

    No.

Everyone is aware that TV stars/politicians/sports stars are on fb, this is common knowledge and it would be very easy to find their profiles.

    So what's the problem then?
You specifically stated that "the elites" are all on fb. So, instead of muddying the waters and avoiding the issue as usual, you please provide concrete evidence that "the elites" are on fb and that

I told you what to do. You are starting to harass me and that's not a good sign on your position. Which tells me you're not interested to find out yourself. I can see your agenda loud and clear.
Or, admit that you can't provide the evidence and that your opinion that "the elites" are all on fb and they are protected by the CIA is just that, an opinion. An unsupported and, frankly, ridiculous opinion

    Get over yourself dude, seriously.

It doesn't matter whether I am interested to find out or not. You made the claim, now you need to provide evidence to back it up.

This is not harrassment, this is rational debate. Make a claim, provide evidence to back it up; that's how it works. Answer questions put to you or admit that you can't.

So, that's a no then? You can't provide evidence for the claims that you made?
