    do you need a gun cabinet if you buy a second gun ?

    Yeah, you also need one if you hold even one rifle.

    wat abou a shotgun can you just break it and hav a trigger lock on it or do u need a cabinet ?

    You can do that for one shotgun if the super accepts it but if you have two shotguns you need a safe.

    Just highlighting that point for the OP.

    Just because you have a shotgun does not mean you are exempt from buying a safe. Remember that all security requirements are MINIMUM levels of security. So in essence a Super could demand a monitored alarm with CCTV, panic room, etc all for a shotgun if he deems it necessary.

    Do not assume because you have one shotgun that storing it in separate pieces is good enough.

    look around on most sites including Dung Deal.for safety sake a cabinet is a great idea if you can get one. Prices vary a lot.
