Common in some muslim countries, and even muslim communities in London - these are absolutely horrific (Just do a quick google search for the effects) and I hope they don't start becoming common over here. The perpetrators should be locked up for a very long time.

Yeah I agree, there was a case where a muslim woman was attacked with acid because she "allowed" herself to get raped. Savages.

There nothing in the article to suggest the Religion of the attacker, so I really fail to see the relevance. BTW, acid attacks are pretty common right across South Asia, mostly in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Also, in India its pretty damn common amongst Hindu's as well.

These sort of attacks have happened here before and abroad.
I am a bit confused where the Muslim part came out of but I know of a attack on a bus driver where the acid was thrown over the protective screen and got his face and hands.

I find these attacks so weak willed. Throw acid in their face out of nowhere and then flee without any chance of retaliation. It's a fuking spineless thing to do and the victim is most likely left very disfigured.

In my school, a few years ahead of me, there was a girl who only had about a quarter of a head of hair. The rest looked shaved. It turns out she got acid thrown over her and her hair never grew back. :-(

A Muslim man is in a critical condition in hospital after having acid poured down his throat in an "honour attack" for having a relationship with a married woman. Police have warned the woman, also a Muslim, that her life is now in danger and are discussing how best to protect her. The 24-year-old man was attacked with sulphuric acid and stabbed by four men. He was blinded in one eye, suffered severe injuries to his tongue and throat and suffered 50 per cent burns. He was also stabbed twice in the back and attacked with bricks leaving him with fractures to his face. The Danish man, who is of Asian origin, is said to have "insulted" a woman's religious family by becoming close to her, although she has denied to officers that the relationship was sexual. He was attacked at about 2am on July 2 in Marchant Road, Leytonstone, east London, close to a bedsit in Mayville Road he had rented a few weeks earlier to be near the woman. One witness who saw the attack from her window said: "I saw four men lashing out and kicking him on the ground. I shouted and they ran off, then one went back and started on him again. I watched a great documentary on this topic a few days ago which followed a plastic surgeon from England who traveled to Pakistan to treat women who had been disfigured in these attacks.

Beating your wife in Islam is haram.You can beat your wife once you cause no damage to her skin including any scratches,bruising,raising of the skin,swelling or markings.You can't beat her in any sensitive areas,this includes the face,head or any female genetalia including the titties.Never with a closed fist or object.

Id give a medal to anyone who could beat someone without doing the above.Throwing acid at someone rules out almost all of the above.Therefore it is not Islamic,nor is it related to Islam.It is related to backward,crazy people who happen to be muslim.

That's the same surgeon who treated Katie Piper after her acid attack. I read her book, it was very good.

Acid attacks went on long before Love/hate hit our screens. People may have found Nidge funny on many occasions but no normal person would condone an acid attack. I would doubt they needed love/hate to get the idea. Remember Love/hate is art depicting life not the other way around

This is a horrible crime and shouldnt have ethnicity brought into the equation , whoever did this is sick and should be locked up , but in this country will probably do feck all time because the judicial system here is on the side of the criminal needs serious reform our country is a joke. So much so that there are scumbags out there that have the balls to shoot a member of the law how many more crimes are us as the public meant to put up with before someone realises we need reform. I thought our law professionals and leaders in this country were "educated"..?It doesnt take a genius to realises we need to be harder on criminals to make these bastards think twice before commiting any crime!!
