It's definitely like Christmas Eve. Admittedly I wouldn't be working from home if it was actually Christmas Eve, but at least I'm still in bed! My husband stopped off in Tesco after escaping from work early and he said it's jammed.

Tesco's in Munster are after closing so it's more like Christmas day!

Tesco is absolutely packed, all right.
I popped in on the way back home and people are stocking up on bread and water like there's no tomorrow!

I actually went to work this morning as didn't get a txt last night saying not to bother coming in but yea, didn't mind, bit of an unexpected day off, I'll take it!

    STAY SAFE, ELVES!

Nothing major in our part of Dublin. Think we were lucky here though, given what we've seen on social media. We had to open for a few hours in the morning but closed at 12.

Ok here in North Dublin thank god, staying in doors,
terrible to hear of the fatalities so far
Can't believe the people going swimming around the country doing surfing too putting the poor volunteers in danger that work alongside the coastguard

I know! I am surprised that they can't be prosecuted for it! So silly.

Bad day here down south. And its still blowing a storm. We live very high up. Wind woke us at 5, so we got up. OH went to feed stock. I put casserole in oven in case electricity went later. It felt very Christmasy. Getting up early to do the jobs, before Santa came......
No ESB/water/internet since early morning. We had fairy lights and loads of candles all over the house. Very seasonal, but to honest, I was
relieved when ESB came back on at 7.30..... RIP to the fatalities of the storm. Their Christmas this year, and forever more will never be the same..........

All ok here in Dublin also. Very quiet in fact. We were very lucky. It could have been much much worse.

All okay here too. Had power all day but it went off around 7 for about 10 mins and then came back. Broadband must be gone six or seven hours at this stage, I do have mobile data though thankfully.

No damage here, just a tree down up the road, it has not caused damage to properties, cars or individuals though thank god and hopefully it won't during the night. I imagine the CoCo will be out in the morning to remove it. They are usually on the ball with things like this.

Iguana I hope you and your little one are okay and you are both safe.

RIP to those who died. Christmas this year will be unbearable for their families and friends. It won't ever be the same again.

Nothing out of ordinary in Donegal here but I suppose we're used to strong winds! ;) The south had it a lot worse though and RIP to those passed away during the storm. I was off yesterday as result so I started on the crafts- have a name garland I have been meaning to make last year for best friend's wee girl so will do Christmas ones when I finish it :D

Back home last night with the house intact! A bit of damage to the garden and the boiler but all sorted now! Celebrated with a waffle breakfast and lighting my apple and cinnamon candle which was lovely and Christmassy. Topped off by hearing Elftown ads on the radio while eating. :D It's my dad's birthday today and I let S buy him Pieface, so I think we'll be having baths tonight.

These are a nice alternative to place names at the table. €35. Probably will have them in a sale in a few weeks.

I’d rather wrap a box with nice paper and spend the money on what’s put in the box.

It is a little expensive. I suppose you might get away with it for other years but personally I'd prefer something extra in the box. I would also look at getting personalised wrapping paper!
